F:AT D&D was created by QPCloudy
I was just wondering, is it possible to have a group of us F:ATties do some D&D via Google + Hangouts or something? Could that work?

WTF is hangout?

Keep in mind I am social networking blind.

Is Google+ something you have to pay for?

Nope, it's free with your gmail/google acct. It's basically Google's version of Facebook.

I've tried virtual games and I think it sucks. But some people really like it.

If people would be interested I could run a play by forum game. I have a really awesome 3.5 campaign that plays far better PBF and I'd love to give it a rip again, especially with people who aren't total randos like I usually end up with the times I've run PBF. I'd be a BEAST to convert, but I run it with a far more AD&D flavor since lots of combat actually played out totally blows online.

The subtle hook is you all wake up in lab cages, no idea what's going on and now have some sweet "extra" traits... like a second set of arms. And it's underground...

I'm in either way. For PBF do we all get on the site at the same time and just post via response, or is there some other way it happens? I imagine then I'll need to make a 3.5 char.

One interesting thing I thought would be fun about doing it via live video is someone could screen cap it and we could upload here at F:AT as sort of a Fortress Ameritrash Dungeons and Dragons video podcast.

Like I said though, either way, I'm in.

I awake in some sort of strange cage, barely enough room to piss. I look down, and realize, I've grown and additional ballsack. jk

PBF isn't real time. Takes a while, a lot more focus on the story and dialog and all that.

If it happens I'll post all the character creation stuff along with more details on the set up.

IN. But watch the time zones. I am something like 7/8 hrs ahead of you and my weekends are Friday and Saturdays. If it's easier for me not to play then fair enough, not going to throw a wobbly.

I'd be interested in trying it with G+ hangouts, but not with PBF. The latter is too slow for my short attention span.

OK. If you want to go that route, I'll be out as I don't have webcam. Never seen the need for one...

(I usually play halfling thieves in D&D)

I play human thieves who think they are swashbuckling fighters, who then die horribly because D&D does not traditionally do very well at creating rules systems where swashbuckling fighters have the ability to not die horribly. Nonetheless, I like the archetype enough to bravely face my fate.

Is this "let me tell you about my D&D character" now? ;)

If so, my favourite char was a gnomish druid with vow of poverty (Book of Exalted Deeds). The only thing I was allowed to carry and did carry was a huge bag of berries. Whenever our party was resting I filled all spell slots with Goodberry and set about feeding the poor. It was very entertaining to me, and frustrating to my fellow party members, to always come up with new ideas to donate my share of gold and treasures. One was establishing a mobile soup kitchen pulled through the city by my dire weasel.
