Hi guys,

I want to share with you the project I am working at.
Septikon is a tactical sci-fi board game for 2 players. It belongs to the Tower Defense genre and has a whole range of different strategies.
It is already published in Russia with wooden figures, but in English version, they will be exchanged for plastic figures.

Kickstarter

Here is our Kickstarter video!

Check out the project and support it if you want.

Feel free to ask me any questions

1. Join forum you know nothing about and didn't read up on.
2. Fail to buy ad space for what is obviously an obvious ad.
3. ....
4. Go fuck yourselfPete Ruth's brainstorming group.

Thanks for the update on your ad buy. I missed it in the cycle--there have been a lot of new ads cycling recently.

That said, still unwise to have your first post to TT be "buy my shit," as you note: lesson learned.

Pete's idea about an advertiser sitemap is a good one too--it would have tempered my enthusiasm.

That said--the graphic design is a hot mess. That is way too many colors for me to feel comfortable with. 10% of men, which, let's be honest, is 10% of your potential buyers have red green colorblindness. This game is going to be really tough on them . The individual icon designs look nice, but they are crammed so close together it looks like play would suffer.

Have you given this game to a group "cold" and watched them play without comment? You will learn an immense amount from this. Just take notes on what they understand, what they don't--when they go to the rulebook, can they find what they were after there? Things like that.

Really nice.
You can see our banner on the main page.
Sorry for my inattention. I've read the topic but nor carefully.
I'll take it as a lesson for me.

Guys, this is my fault.

I've been involved in a Kickstarter "brainstorming" group on Facebook for a while and I am actively pushing Fortress: AT as a place where "critical thinking" gamers, with the God-given sense that is so often missing from BGG, come to avoid the sea of stupidity.

A lot of new advertisers have appeared here of late due to that endeavor; I'm hoping to get these guys some exposure (small goal) as well as push more ad revenue to Shellie (big goal). I thought I saw these guys' ad on the front page at one point but I might be mistaken.

I'd love to see a list of current advertisers on the SITEMAP page so that we can all see whether a company has advertised before piling on them like a pack of hungry lionesses on a felled zebra.

The game looks...well, it certainly looks different, I'll give you that. I entered the contest over at that other place and I gotta say, the rulebook -- assuming that's the final rulebook -- is an absolute mess.

Good luck with your Kickstarter.

Also, I'm not a Kickstarter guy when it comes to board games, but if I were, emphasizing how nice the figures are (plastic, metal, whatever) over everything else would be a giant red flag.

I just saw this banner ad so.....some positive criticism might be nice given the guy did actually follow the rules (OK apart from starting his own thread...easy mistake to make).

Jeb was just messing with you...

Good luck

The title of this game sounds like a plumber's convention.

oops, sorry Septikon, I didn't realize you had an ad. Though I still find one-post shills rude, I appreciate that you did try to look up to see what would be protocol for advertising your game.

It should come as no surprise that I'm intrigued by the look of it. Needs more rainbows though.

And I will also extend an olive branch and hope you actually stick around to post more about things that aren't just self promotional.

Yeah, you buy an ad, you get carte blanche to talk about your game in the forums. Consider it a bonus.

Septikon--there are a lot of very passionate, very intelligent, and very cool folks in our forums. If they are giving free feedback, you'll definitely want to listen.

Welcome to the Fort, we appreciate the ad buy, and hope you stick around.
