Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)
Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.
HeroQuest 25th Anniversary Edition
- Space Ghost
- Offline
- D10
- fastkmeans
Thus, far we have done:
HeroQuest Base Game
Kellar's Keep
Revenge of the Witch Lord
Against the Ogre Horde
Currently, we are in Wizard's of Morcar. We'll follow it up with the Barbarian and Elf Quest Packs -- I found some good fan made Quest Packs for the Wizard and Dwarf; then we will tie it all together with a final "concluding quest" to end the story (assuming the Heroes live through it all -- but it is hard to get a TPK in HeroQuest).
Anyway, I will probably get this too.

I've got hopes for this game.

That's my nostalgic problem with an Anniversary Edition and why I wouldn't get it for myself. You'll never see a copy of it that loved and abused. I'd rather pick up a used copy of the classic. (But not that copy I'm talking about. Yuck.)

Sell off the lion's share of your collection forcing you to play mainly, if not only, HQ25 all year. It'll become a well beloved copy.
Or, if you're not inclined to do that, buy me a copy and I'll hammer plays on the game with friends and kids. I'll send it to you a year later.
On another note, I'm glad this is being produced in Spain. I've never taken to the US flavor of fantasy (WoW, FFG, etc), but straight up love many European styles. I'm hoping we'll get a unique Spanish feel to the game.

Another kickstarter where you have to spend $150 just to get the stretch goals? This is just as bad as Shadows of Brimstone. The only difference is Heroquest is a known commodity.
So they're charging you $40 extra for the stretch goals? lol
Also, since it's shipped from Spain there will probably be a hefty shipping charge to get it in the U.S.

If you have the original HQ (I don't anymore), do you sell now before the update potentially torpedoes the value? Hold on the sale in the hopes that the update is a dog? Keep the original regardless and combine it all?
I'm also not too keen on $150 for a boardgame ($110 for a base game and a few extra heroes is also a bit high), and am also part of the anti-kickstarter contingent. However, this seems like one of those vanity projects of a known commodity. TMs may be preventing it from ever happening here or in England but a small company in Spain has the know how and tools, but not the capital.

(4 posts down is a translation of all that comes in the game).
I'm _really_ torn on this. $150 is a lot of cash, but this'll only come from Spain. Will it even make it to the US? Will GW file a suit once all of the backers have pledged? Hell, I never wanted to be a pledger or backer anyway.

It seems like a lot of bang for your buck, which is nice.
But I wonder if shipping is going to be extra pushing it closer to $200 or so.

Really? It wasn't SPI with War in the East or Art of Siege or Operation Typhoon or....
I'd counter that this hobby has always been expensive; it's just that the deep end of the pool is a whole lot more visible to a broader stretch of the community now...

If you can swallow it, I bet the way to go is to order two. Selling off one after they're gone will likely cover the cost of both as well as give you some extra lunch money. Being a high dollar KS game, of a reputable title, that only comes from overseas is going to launch the aftermarket fairly high.
Hell, I doubt I can swallow the cost of one. Why are they doing this over the Christmas month again?

The most amusing part of that thread is that everyone is worried about GW instead of Hasbro. Do these guys have a clear license agreement to ship to the U.S. with Hasbro?
