For your games of [whatever], do you use a mat? If so, from which company? Thoughts on it? Pictures?

I have a few different official FFG Star Wars mats for (previously) X-wing as well as Armada. I have a couple Sails of Glory mats as well but have still never played the game, unfortunately.

I find them kind of burdensome, actually. They take up a lot of space and aren't as durable or problem-free as they're presented, or at least I tend to muck them up with poor rolling, storage, whatever.

I use the Deadzone mats for Deadzone, of course... I also have a big piece of green felt for Warhammer Diskwars. I'm going to be purchasing a sand-colored piece of felt for "The Battlefield" which is a modern military miniatures ruleset I just bought.

Bought two space mats from FFG. They'r pretty nice but not overly special, basically just extra thick mousepad material.

This is why I always make the women in my group roll out the mats. I also make them clear the table afterwards while us men talk about the higher levels of board game strategy.

lol, i want to frame that.

but you're totally misinterpreting what i'm saying. i'm not saying it in a misogynistic way. It's not that I feel like a woman when I say, "i don't feel like a man". I mean I feel like a total boy or a loser or something. that's all.

but your post is still funny

Hotzmats.com.

Durable as hell, not slippery, and cheap.

I only have one for X-Wing. Made for less than $5 with a piece of black cloth, white fabric paint, and a toothbrush.

Here is the topic when you asked about it 4 years ago.

Unless I feel like a mat will actually help the gameplay, like an extra layer of felt for Micro Mutants or an easy way to flop down a predefined area for Warhammer Diskwars or an RPG battle mat, I don't like them. Occasionally they might help a little with immersion, but they're typically the Realm Coins of playing surfaces.

I have played Infinity on one of the Micro Art Studio mouse pad/neoprene/rubber/whatever mat, and they feel great. I just love the texture. Moving miniatures is smooth, and it's easy on your hand (texturized hard surface is just the worst, carpet-like material just slightly below it). Dice roll beautifully on the surface, just the right bounce and not as loud. Finally, it looks great, even only with Operation Icestorm paper buildings. The artwork really sets the tone.

I don't have the pics from where we used it, but googling "Infinity Micro Art Studio Mat" will net you good pics.

I'd love to have one, but shipping these mats costs an arm and a leg.
