Let's Talk About Gaslands

Much bigger than the Hot Wheels trucks and the scale looks right to me. This does remind me I should order some buses from them too.

Yep! I've only played a couple of games with friends & family at my house. Do you play regularly?

I’m in Troutdale and I’ve played about 6 times, trying to make it more regular. Mostly at my house or friends’ houses. I’ve got a ton of terrain and a game mat, so I can go wherever. If you are interested in playing at some point, I’m definitely interested.

The Portland Game Store in north Portland has a nascent Gaslands night on Tuesday that I’ve started attending. We’ll see how that develops.

If you're willing to travel that far and you're available, there's a game night tonight at Mannahouse Church on Mill Plain near 205 in Vancouver. Mostly euro stuff but I'll bring some Ameritrash. I'm going to be meeting a couple of my friends there.

Can’t make tonight but if it’s every week, I’ll definitely try to make it up there soon.

That one's just once a month, 2nd Friday. But maybe we can figure something out for the 16th or 23rd.

You want some cars? I have tons as I went on a purchasing binge there for a bit. What are you looking for?

I am giving them to my nephew for Christmas so just an assortment of cars that fall in different categories (I need to look at the basic rules). I probably won't mod guns on, just paint/rough them up so he can use his imagination for weapons

I know the vehicle types are the book, but they're split over two tables several pages away from each other, so the Quick Reference PDF is pretty handy:

First thing I thought of when I saw the Tesla Cybertruck:

"Shit, this would be a great Gaslands mini"

If you're in the west USA and have a WINCO grocery store, I saw a great to-scale semi truck & trailer there for only $5.

Started my garbage painting today, varnished a couple and fucked up a couple with chaos black primer to murder it out. Need to practice the consistency of my spray.

Finally went ahead and primed and did some painting/weathering. My partner and I sat down and worked on 3 cars, I'll be sending them to my nephew tomorrow as the first tranche (he's at the grandparents, so I don't want to send him all the terrain and shit since he's got to fly home).

It was... a lot more fun than I thought? I still have a lot of built up anxiety about painting from when I was 15 and this really pretty much had none of that, I also had a tremendous amount more patience (and money, tbh) to try fancier techniques than just slapping base coat on. Gaslands is a great way to get people into painting, made me want to do more and buy more paints, etc. Maybe work on my Armada ships? I dunno.

Thanks again to Disgustipater for the 3d printing and the painting tips. I'm kind of bummed my necron silver came in a (new) pot that was pretty much already dried out. I mixed in water and used it to sponge but it was just not right, just chunky and dry.
