I just picked this up and haven't even checked out the rules but it looks sooo excellent. I am ready to go bust some perps.

No, but the Judge Dredd fanboy is screaming for me to get it.

You vie for various turfs which give you a combination of prestige, income, and special abilities. Each turf requires a certain number of gang members to manage (read:shake down). You can use prestige/income to buy equipment, recruit new members, and get specialists. As you win battles you advance gang members by assaigning traits like "Nerves of Steel" or "Luck of Grud". There are a bunch of rules to help balance out the weaker gangs. Special events pop up altering gameplay. It looks really really cool.
Now all I have to do is brainwash my friends into playing it.
"City-Def has determined that you're to report to the Psycho Cubes for immediate treatment and re-education therapy. Have a nice Day."

Well, at least there's a better chance of you getting me to play this than there is for RACER KNIGHTS OF FALCONUS.
Micheal, Don't fear what you cannot hope to understand...

From what I've read Necromundia borrowed heavily from this (or is it the otehr way around..I forget) but either way, w/o the setting it wouldn't be half as cool.

Yeah, but it isn't GW. GW was always squirrley with Necromunda, in my opinion, and I'd rather give GOMCO a shot before I waste money with them again (GW). I've got enough 40k. If I want to play Necromunda, I'll just use my 40k figures. I never play in tournaments, so it's all good.
Gangs sounds like Necromunda, but it looks like it sets itself apart with the special events and it has JUDGES, man! Necro doesn't have that, they don't even have Arbites...

BLOCKMANIA _rocks_. With MEGAMANIA, it _fucking rocks_. Drokk it!
Fastest game I had lasted three turns. CATASTROPHIC Failure on a collapse roll. Bye, bye Buddy Holly Block.

[/i]Spoooky ... I was just reading the rules and photocopying the Blocker's Manual for Blockmania this afternoon to take along to our club in the next week or so.
Too busy job hunting to get it sorted - maybe next week. Just as well, 'cos it was Bloodbowl league night and most of the guys (most of who are a lot younger than me) were involved in that - just had enough players for one boardgame and finished off with a teaching game of Memoir'44 with one of the younger guys ... got him interested though.
I've got Megamania so hopefully will get a 4-player game in. Took everyone's recomendation on Risk: Star Wars OT from last year and played it a couple of times this month and it has gone down well.
One of the guys has still got his Space Hulk from years ago, and I've got Space Crusade as well as Blockmania so looking good for an 80's GW night sometime.
