Unfinished Business: The remains of my Death Guard

I once had a Warhammer 40,000 army of Death Guard that I never even expanded to a 2000 point force. Tonight, I found those old miniatures, looked up Games Workshop's website - and found that all my miniatures are still valid as force components.

Even if I never play the Warhammer 40,000 game again - I just feel guilty that I left my Plague Marines, to, erm, ROT. That I never expanded them past a Chaos Lord, a Dreadnought, and two Plague Marine squads... opening them up now makes me feel like I did when I painted them at 15 yesrs old - pimply and awkward.

I just feel like I owe it to my squad to finish this company of plastic and metal soldiers. What should I do? Should I finish the squad for fun?

Well, take this into consideration: Are you ever going to play again? Are you an avid modeler and painter? If the answer to either one of these questions is "no" then by all means, get rid of them. If you answer "yes" to one, then keep them and finish them off. If you're doing it out of guilt, then you're not going to fully appreciate them, even if you do finish the project. It's going to be an obligation as opposed to a hobby.

I have a 2500+ point army of Imperial Guard (complete with Baneblade) and 1500 point army of Eldar, in various stages of painting. I have it on a To Do list to completely paint both of them. I do plan on playing the game again, and in the meantime I use the minis for other games (Gangs of Mega City One, Warzone 1st Ed, Necromunda, Inquisitor). I get into a stint of wanting to paint, and then that is eclipsed with "Hey, what's on TV?"

If all else fails the Death Guard I already have painted can fight my Bucket O Soldiers in a Little Wars game.
