Dominion has never been a favorite of mine.
Eminent Domain is a bit better than ok. Not great and the theme is thin.
I'd go with Nightfall or Core Worlds before either of them.
I suppose to answer the actual question. Sure I'd make the trade if I were curious about E.D.

I've tried Nightfall. To be honest, I hated it. It was just too bleh I dunno. I had virtually no clue what the hell I was doing, and I won. So, take it as you will. Core Worlds, I am clueless on.

I can vouch for Core Worlds. It feels a lot more thematic than E.D (giggle). Unlike Dominion, E.D, Puzzle Strike, etc, Core Worlds uses the same purchasing mechanics of games like Thunderstone and Ascension. You're never guaranteed to get or even see a particular card. And once the card hits the purchasing section, someone may be able to purchase it before you do.
The trappings otherwise are fairly similar to E.D. You're going to conquer planets... Core Worlds does tend to have a guided tour element going on. You'll be moving from the outer part of space into the Core Worlds. You'll know what cards will/might be available during each part of the tour.
One last thing I like about Core Worlds is that all the factions play just a little bit differently. There isn't a ton of flavor in each faction, but like Puzzle Strike, you'll get a few cards that are unique to your particular faction.
