Just saw a preview of this game on Robot Viking called Dungeon Crawl CCG that's coming out. You can play solo or with a friend. Sounds kind of neat, but also sounds like Dungeoneer.

Dungeoneer was lame. Strikes me that this game should be sold in LCG format. CCG is going to kill this one quickly. Why buy random cards for a mostly solitaire game?

I agree, Stormseeker. They must really think solo players are going to want to keep buying new cards to keep the game fresh or some sort of tournament play will evolve. But yeah, the LCG format would fit better.

This is an instabuy for me as long as its not too expensive. I didn't hate Dungeoneer and this better than that.

Thanks also to truning me on to RobotViking. I spent half a day reading articles.

Yeah, Robot Viking is pretty cool. It's like 90% Magic and D&D articles, though. Every once in a while he talks about board games. The dude is also working on his own Car Wars type game called Project Death Race.

Yikes. A 12-step sequence of play? Seems a bit much for a solo Dungeon Romp.

OTOH, the video tutorials were great and the company seems serious about supporting the game. That might be enough to get me to take a flyer on it.

I watched the first few minutes of the flash thing, and it looks cool and I like solo games, but I have to ask those who watched the whole thing... are there any actual decisions involved or is it a glorified version of the original "solitaire" card game that happens to have a dungeon crawl theme? In other words, you go through the deck and see what happens, but you don't have much of an affect on that... If there are some decent decisions involved, then I'm sure I'll grab a pack of this to try it out.

good point Grundi. I'll have to tune into the flash demo and see what I can make of it.
