Well I was all excited for Civilization, and now we have this. I may have just wet myself with excitement.

That's what, 3, 4, new games they've announced this week?

I like the nature of the LCG line and having played a quite a bit of a buddy's Warhammer:Invasion have been thinking about getting a proper 'nerd' card game. (Not the Knizia type number games for families.) I was leaning toward 51st State, but may wait until I get a better look at this.

EDIT: hmmm...coop? Having just announced the co-op boardgame to the SilverLine? Think I may pass after all. Nice art though!

FFG really is a crack dealer, ain't it?

Of all the recent FFG announcements, this one wets my whistle the most. The wife & I played the Tomb Raider CCG a lot, which this reminds me of a little bit in look-and-feel. I'll likely invest in it for something to play with the daughter.

solo is nice....I have a hard time finding people for Call of Cthulhu (and Warhammer seems to akin to creature beatdown in MtG....which is my least favorite type of deck, while GoT is just too big for me to enter this late in the game).

Solo play makes me interested. I don't play many two player card games these days, but I'd like to try this as a solitaire thing. Wish the WARHAMMER LCG was solo!

Huh. Not sure what to make of this. I was kind of hoping for a system more like the old Middle-Earth CCG, but co-op could be really interesting. Funny that it is set in the same time period as Middle-Earth Quest. I'd rather see them do the quest to destroy the One Ring or explore stuff from the Simarillion.

I'm sure my wife will hear from FFG to do some art for this. She just got some for AGoT. She's already done W:I and CoC.

Yeah, the cards aren't out yet, but when they are, I'll share with y'all which ones they are.

I'll keep an eye on this because it looks neat, but I really don't like the LCG model. To paraphrase another poster, I don't like supporting a game that needs a constant stream of expansions to stay at all interesting.

I'm also concerned that this will only support two players out of the box. If you want to play with four players you need to buy 2 core sets! Cripes, they couldn't fit 400 cards into that big box? I suppose that's a sign though, that the game is targeted for solo players, not big groups.

That will work perfectly for gaming couples. I'm sure I'll be able to get my wife to at least try the game and if she doesn't like it then it will still work as a solo game.

Browncoat, who's your wife? Link us to a portfolio page or something so we can ooh and aah!

Can someone give me a run down on the difference between CCG and LCG? I'm finding it too tedious to cut through the propaganda on FFG's website to figure out a staight and simple description of what LCG is.
