I skipped Gen Con this year, and from what I have seen so far, I am not going to regret that decision at all. The only game I was even interested in is Dune, a game that is 4 decades old. GF9 had tweeted about free shipping if you pre-order at the show. I tweeted at them to ask if the same deal applies to a web order, because why the hell wouldn't it, and they ignored me.
Perhaps I'm getting too jaded, but all of these new announcements are doing nothing for me.
That said, I do hope to return in 2020, and even more hopefully, with business reasons to do so.

I don’t give a shit about GenCon from an industry angle. Don’t care about the announcements aside from GW showing their airplane game and Beastgrave. Anything new that I want I either already have on the way or already have.

But I do hope that folks that go to meet up with friends and colleagues have a great time. Looks like fun.
