In: Earth Reborn
My last play of GtR confirmed it was the sort of game I admire more than I enjoy. Furthermore I have spent nearly a decade coming close to pulling the trigger on Earth Reborn, and now that I get two player games played more I am ready to finally welcome it to the shelf.

Out: My offer was pretty much anything on my "might be willing to trade list" and probably two or three of those.
Do I need another DOAM? Probably not but that won't stop me from trying.

I'm still raving about it, just not as loudly I suppose because it's not as new and other voices have chimed in praising it. The expansion is on the boat and I'm seriously looking forward to it. Game doesn't need an expansion in the slightest, but it's always enjoyable to interact with stuff you dig in new and interesting ways.

Out: shogun big box
Honestly, I never used the expansions. I'll replace it with the base game or wallenstein down the road... before Thanksgiving.

In: El Grande Original
At Conn Con there was an auction for an original English El Grande plus a few other things. I bid, only wanting El Grande. I had the Big Box but 1) it's cheaper, less good production -- meeples instead of cubes, flimsy tower 2) I will never play with the expansion 3) Even with the expansion junk the box was way too big, designed for shelf presence
My pal Ron knew the people who won the auction and brokered a trade of my Big Box for the regular version. They were amenable and now we're both happy.
