hotseatgames wrote: Wow! I'd love to hear about how you actually did that, and how much work was involved.
Was actually pretty easy. Noble Knight is pretty accommodating about what they'll buy and how. I asked them a couple times if this or that was OK and every time they responded with: "Sure!" I sent them a bunch of comic collections (square bound trades) of pretty recent stuff and they took those. I also sent them some art books (Warner Bros., Jack Kirby, etc.) Basically, you send them a list and they respond with what they'll buy (which, again, in my two experiences with them has been "Everything.") Then you tell them how many boxes it will be (this shipment was 18) and they email you the FedEx labels. You apply them, put a list of each box's contents with your name, address, and email on it in each box, and then call FexEx to come get it. When they get everything and have confirmed the contents/condition, they Paypal you the money. It took me a few hours to box everything up (especially the minis, since they risk the most damage) but everything other than that was basically no effort.

WadeMonnig wrote: Wow, I never knew you were that heavy into Firefly and Runebound. Surprisingly, there are only like 5 things on the list that I would have cringed to purge... and most of those because I want to play them, not that I would miss them if I owed them.
Yeah, I had everything for Firefly but the second big expansion and I had every single thing ever printed for Runebound 2nd Edition, which is what that list is. Loved both games, but they did their time with me and it was the moving on point. I think the only things I might feel little pangs of regret for are Crusader Rex and M&M, but I've kind of moved out of block games (still have Triumph and Tragedy, though) and I have a few adventure-type games like M&M. Confusion was also a good thing, but most people I tried it with were kind of lukewarm on it. So, whatevs.

hotseatgames wrote: I had never known that Noble Knight would pay cash, I always thought you just got store credit. Good to know.
You get a much better deal if you get store credit. Like almost twice as much, from what I remember. But I've always just taken the cash. Their prices are really high, so $300 of credit with them doesn't go anywhere near as far as $300 of credit with Game Nerdz, Miniature Market, etc.

Then, for some game refreshes in the BGG Math Trades, after a barren January trade I'm swapping four out this month.
Out:
Freelancers: A Crossroads Game (played the Forgotten Waters game but this one never hit the table)
Sleeping Gods (second time in the collection but the play fell a bit flat with a mate so out it goes)
Star Wars: Imperial Assault - Tyrants of Lothal expansion
Warfighter: The Tactical Special Forces Card Game (it was played a couple of times but it never hooked me)
In:
Sniper Elite + Eagles Nest expansion
The 7th Continent bundle
Hannibal: Rome vs Carthage
Power Grid (return of an oldie but a goodie)
Definitely a variety of genres coming in

I've been playing a couple of different Maps for Power Grid and have been really impressed with what changes it makes to gameplay with only a few new rules, two new maps, and a resource card. All of the Map expansions I have seen are double sided, so getting a expansion for roughly 15 bucks that gives so much to repeated plays is pretty freaking cool. And I ditched the insert, So I have 3 (well, 6 because double sided) additional maps in the base game.

I played it a lot in the 2000s and 2010s and the different maps were one of the best things about the game, only got rid of it and extra maps half a dozen years back because my new groups weren't that interested in it ... but took the opportunity to get a copy back on the shelves.WadeMonnig wrote:

southernman wrote: Back in January I traded my Sword & Sorcery: Immortal Souls full bundle (I had played it through two and a half times and need to get the more recent one out, this one was being a distraction due to it being so good/fun) for a Chronicles of Drunagor bundle. I'm not sure if I'm going to have the time to play it (even in the next few years) so it may end up on the Sell pile.

Definitely a variety of genres coming in. I've had 7th Continent before and it (many years back) was a bit too puzzley & difficult for me, I'll try again but it may be one going to the Sell pile as well.
Chronicles of Drunagor
I played a fair bit of this when it came out. My BGG comments:
Pros:
easy to set up scenarios, plays fast per scenarios
Fairly clean rules wise and easy to get into
Door mechanic helps build a fog of war about what you're about to encounter
Cons:
by using minis vs cardboard, the variety of monsters is SEVERELY lacking vs say Gloomhaven, even if you use expansions ( which we did ) . You get sick of the same old same old very fast
A dungeon crawler with no gold ???
The item/loot progress is laughable in some ways - we'd get new cards to choose from what where no better than what we had. All characters level at the same rate and regardless of scenario performance.
The dungeon layouts with basically zero LOS blocks and walls that "disappear" when doors open are very weird and feel unthematic
The Darkness mechanic felt really clunky and could have been handled with simple mods as the scenario progresses, forcing heroes to move faster. Constantly laying down tiles, calculating where they go etc detracted from play IMO.
I’d put it below GLOOMHAVEN but above DARKEST DUNGEON as far as enjoyment .
