A copy of Fluxx and a dog-eared deck of standard playing cards.

I tend to keep things that have a timeless, evergreen quality- stuff that I can always pull off the shelf and go even if it’s been a while. The really complex or elaborate stuff doesn’t tend to fall into that category, and my time with those kinds of games is generally over once I’ve had some plays, enjoyed it, and feel like it would be better off being played by someone else.
Here is some of what is on my forever shelf…some of these games I’ve had for for 20+ years.
Acquire
Can’t Stop
Talisman
Settlers of Catan
Dune
El Grande
Tigris & Euphrates
Modern Art
Ra
Power Grid
Nexus Ops
Dungeonquest
Survive
Ticket to Ride
Tikal
GIPF series
Unmatched
The Crew
Dune Inperium
Mechs vs. Minuons (my son’s all time favorite game)
Neuroshima Hex
Possible candidates for the Forever Shelf but I’ve had these less than 3-4 months
Return to Dark Tower
Summoner Wars 2nd Edition
War Chest
Libertalia Winds of Galecrest
Hansa Teutonica
Betrayal at the the House on the Hill 3rd edition
Generally speaking, if I come back to a game 10+ years later and still dig it, that is usually something I’ll put up there. Talisman for example. I’m on my FOURTH and —final ownership of it. I mean it this time.

It's fairly priced, and I'm sure you'll get a buyer, but I still haven't come to grips with dropping that much on a game in one shot. While I normally embrace a shelf toad, the rule is that the toad must actually fit on a shelf.

It is also the kind of game where if you like it, you want it all. Mindclashbsent me a review copy of the base game and after like 2 plays I was hunting for this to get the whole package. I
