Guitar want is a nasty, nasty thing. But you know what? It's cheaper than Warhammer!

Big cuts here...reap the benefit of my 6 string lust. Pretty soon all that will be left is Cant't Stop, Acquire, a pile of Knizia games, El Grande, Dune stuff, Cosmic, Dungeonquest, and Godtear.

Twilight Inscription $50 shipped
Quacks of Quedlinburg Mega Box (both expansions included) $65 shipped
Vengeance: Roll & Fight Episode 1 and 2 $70 shipped
King of Tokyo Dark Edition $60 shipped
Super Skill Pinball : Star Trek $25 shipped
Rallyman GT $35 shipped

Quacks is really fun...but it's just not ever asked for. It's a very good push your luck thing.

Vengeance is good MP- there is a real time dice-grabbing element where you are trying to build dice combos before the pool runs out. The resolution stage is quick, and simultaneous so nobody is left waiting. There's no interaction between player boards/characters but it's fun with a group. The solo game is great too, you just set a timer instead of racing others for the dice. We played it several times, it's about 20-30 minutes. It's one I was on the line about selling but...guitars.

Which guitar forums are you haunting? Because I want to watch for the inevitable “selling my guitars to buy Warhammer” posts!

LOL ThereWillBe.Guitars.

Guitar forums are weird, scary places. It always seems like you are in a room with all these older dudes with questionable pony tails that wear suspenders.

I looked up your guitar and found a Reddit post that said it sucks because (and I'm not kidding) the only famous people that played it are Robby Krieger, who no one has heard of because the front-man of his band was so much better known, and that school boy guy from AC/DC.

Damning evidence indeed.

Now I'm after a Jazzmaster and even fewer, less well known people play it. Can't pick a winner. :-(

Michael, I’ve owned a bunch. ~DO NOT~ go cheap, buy an American Pro or you will hate it. Or, go cheap and buy a J Mascis Squier and add a Mastery bridge.

They never stay in tune for shit despite any attempts at cutting the nut or changing the trees. They rattle to hell and back because of that bull shit synchronized tremolo system.

The American ones aren’t bad, the Mascis Squiers have hot pickups that rock. The midrange is all firewood and the bottom end is worse because the fretwork is sloppy.

Michael, has anyone claimed Rallyman GT yet? I might have you send it to a family member, who can mule it over to me in Kenya.

BTW Pete because I really love my Classic Vibe Tele I went Classic Vibe on the JM- it's the same as the J Mascis without the mods. It is -wild-. When I got it, I was like wow, this guitar is trash. But I tweaked it up a bit and suddenly the thing became a grunge/surf -monster-. At least some days! It is the most tempermental guitar I've ever seen. Some days it is my absolute favorite, other days I just don't know what to do with it. The tremolo is goofy but I love it, it stays in tune fairly well (better than a Bigsby IMO). Fretwork is fine and it is a little rattly but I love that. Like I always say- punk rock wasn't made on $2k guitars.

I do think my next might be a Player Series Mustang though, mainly because the CV Mustang doesn't have P90s. And it's substantially cheaper than the Reverend that I really want. There's always trade ups.

A good middle ground is a Yamaha RevStar.

Personally, I have stopped fucking with any but the top shelf guitars because life is too short for turd guitars. The whole “punk rock wasn’t made on cheap guitars” concept is total bullshit, though. Punk rock was made on borrowed guitars, mostly, and the ones that lasted and got some money got nice amps. El Jefe isn’t playing a Squier. J Mascis isn’t playing one either.

Save up and get a Mastery bridge and some nice pickups and you’ll be all set, the fretwork is where the problems lie usually, and if you are past that you’re good to go. I do my own fretwork and tech shit so for me it’s all gravy if the bones are good. The reason I have the stance on the turds is that every moment I’m not playing because I’m wrenching on the guitar, I’m wasting my life.

I sold everything that wasn’t essential and spent 2 years flipping guitars. Ended up meeting hella musicians and getting to do guest gigs (bad idea on both our parts, im a hack) because I sold them their fave guitars.

I’m selling my PRS right now. Secret stash 2005 20th Anniversary, with pickups I had my guy at Buddha make me, p94 gold foils. Magic guitar, but my hands are too small for those wide ass necks. Someone offered me a trade for a Suhr JM, another a 2019 Elite Tele, another a Kemper profiler and pedal controller, another for an Ultra Strat…but fuck it, no dice. My kid wants a pinball machine.
