It has, we're waiting on the Michael to send out a new logfile and place his bid for the last card. It's a long weekend here in British Columbia so he may be out of town.

So we're off!

Who's who starting at the top of the map and going counter clockwise:

Atreides:
Dr_Mabuse

Emperor: MattDP

Harkonnen: mjl1783

Bene Gesserits: lollocaust

The Fremen:
Not Sure

The Guild (and google spreadsheet master): Southerman

Turn 1

Spice Blow:
6- Oh Gap

Bidding:
A bit slow going as we iron out our system, as we do this via email and VASSAL. It should move quicker next turn (crossing fingers).

Atreides: 1 card

Emperor: 2 cards

Harkkonen: 1 card (+1 more due to ability)

Bene Gesserits: 1 card

The Fremen: 1 card

The Guild: 0 cards (but will have a shitload of money comes next bidding round)

Movement:

More or less standard openers:
Fremen gathers 5 units plus 1 Fedaykin and hit the spice blow.

The Guild (being new to world of Dune) moves 10 members of the Guild into Habbanya Ridge Seitch referred to by some as "the Emperor's seitch".

The Atreides play conservatively and ship 2 units to Arakeen (accompanied by a representative of the Bene Gesserits).

The Emperor being a benevolent and learned leader ships 7 units and 3 Sardaukar into the Guild occupied Suek's Seitch, not in malice but as a reminder to all that mistakes (innocent though may they be) are costly.

The brash Harkonnen drop 6 units into Carthag (accompanied by a representative of the Bene Gesserits). They then makes a move on the spice in Fremen occupied Oh Gap with 8 units.

Battles:

Fremen vs Harkonnen at Oh Gap
Harkonnen plays: 2 tokens dialed, Feyd Rautha (6), Maula Pistol (proj.)
Fremen plays: 5 tokens dialed, Cheap Heroine card
Result: Harkonnen wins 8-5

Guild vs The Emperor at Suek's Sietch
Emperor plays: six tokens dialed, Capt. Arasham (5), Kulon (worthless)
Guild plays: 5 tokens dialed, Staban Tuek (5), Slip-Tip (proj.)
Slip-tip kills Capt. Arasham

Result: Guild wins 10-6

2 cards

Harkkonen:
1 card (+1 more due to ability)

sends an Ambassador to accompany the Emperor in Tuek's Sietch.

The Fremen bring 4R + 1F to Sietch Tabr from the other side of Arrakis then send 3 units plus 2 Fedaykin to the spice-filled Red Chasm.

Atreides: ship 3 troops into Tuek's Sietch and transport them to the Red Chasm to battle the Fremen for spice.

The Guild: take no shipping/movement action.

Deals:

Duke Paul Atreides w/ Edric of the Guild: Info on where next Spice blow will occur on the proviso that he does not ship or move his forces into the Red Chasm for this turn.

Don't leave the good people hanging, Dr.

The early parts of round 3 begin with Shai-Hulud visiting Red Chasm, a fact which the Duke certainly knew of before sending his men there.

No one claimed any of that 8 spice blow. The worm ate it all, along with the bodies of everyone who fought there.

Now the serious treachery begins in the Nexus. Alliances are ready to be made.

I just find it easier for me just to do a summery of the turn rather than a running commentary.

All right bitches, the Harkkonens have decided to set differences aside and join forces with House Atreides, for the better of Dune.

As leader of the House Atreides, we accept Baron Vladimir's offer.

Pay homage all, to the new rulers of ARRAKIS!

Harkkonen: revive 2, ship 4 to Carthag, moves 6 from Carthag to Seitch Tabr

Deals:

None

Battles:
1) The Emperor vs House Atreides at Tuek’s Seitch

Atreides uses prescience to ask about The Emperor’s troops to be dialed. Answer: 6

The Emperor uses Truthtrance and asks: “Will you be playing a snooper card as part of your battle plan?”
Answer: No

Atreides Battle Plan:
Leader Lady Jessica (5)
Stunner
Shield
Dial 1 troop

Strength 6.

Emperor:
Dial six troops
Play poison weapon, cheap hero(ine)

Strength 6.

Poison Weapon kills Lady Jessica, reducing Atreides strength to 1.
Stunner kills Cheap Hero, to no effect.

Preliminary results are Emperor 6, Atreides 1.

Note from me as Atreides: FUCK!!!

2) The Emperor vs House Harkonnen at Seitch Tabr
As an ally Atreides asks a prescience question for the Harkonnen: “ What weapon will you be using?"
Answer: Projectile

Emperor:

Dial 6 troops
Play projectile weapon
Leader will be Caid (3)

Strength 9 (-3 = 6)

Harkonnen Battle Plan:

4 troops dialed
Piter De Vries (3)
Maula Pistol
Shield

Strength 7

Maula pistol kills the undefended Caid. Piter de Vries blocks the
projectile with a shield.

Harkonnen win 7-6. Emperor to discard troops, Caid, and weapon.
Harkonnen remove 4 troops, collect 3 spice and a random leader.

Best Correspondence:
Baron: “So, how much is the Emperor willing to pay for me not to take another of his leaders?”
The Emperor “A grand total of nothing, you fat fuck.”

We will have Arrakkis back for ourselves! He who controls the spice controls the universe and what young Duke Paul did not tell you is I have someone very close, very close to the leaders of the other great houses of the Lansraad! These people, these traitors, will be more valuable to us than ten legions of Sardaukar!

I won't tell you who the traitors are, or when I will attack. However, the Emperor, Steersman Edric, Dr. Kynes, and the Revered Mother will die before these eyes and they'll know THEY'LL KNOW that it is I, BARON VLADAMIR HARKONNEN WHO ENCOMPASSES THEIR DOOM!!!!

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH!!!!!
