Ah crap. Let's say Poco attacked the MiG-21 because it's the more dangerous plane and he's the better pilot.

Actually, we don't need to do that. Since targets are chosen and resolved one at a time, even if Buick fired at the MiG-21, we get to wait to see if he's succeeded before Poco fires. So there's no question of "cheating"; we're entitled to do this.

Oh right, Barbarian hit. But shouldn't the MiG-17 be in the Centre zone, i.e. out of range to attack us?

North: Mig-21 & MiG-19
East: MiG-21 & MiG-17
South: MiG-21 & MiG-17
West: None
Center: Mig-21

That's 4 x MiG-21, 2x MiG-17 and 1xMiG-19 right?

On turn 1 we had 4 successful AtA hits which would be against the 4 MiG-21's.

This turn we've got 2 AtA attempts, 1 success, which leaves 1 MiG-19 and 1 MiG-17, right?

We can't hit the East on turn 1. It's 3 zones away. So we killed three 21s and a 19 in the North (most dangerous first).

At the end of turn 1, the 17 in the South moves to the West, and the MiGs in the East move to the center. So that's one 17 in the West and one 17 and 21 in the center.

Turn 2 we kill the 21. The 17 in the center can't attack us, so there's only the 17 we need to worry about. We should suppress it.

That's correct. What you said above, Buick also fired on the 21 because it's more dangerous.

So we have the 17 attacking Driver. I agree, we should suppress it. We can't risk one of our bombers getting damaged.

Edit: Let's have Poco fire 1 missile, if he misses then Barbarian and should he miss then Buick.

OK thanks for sketching that out. I thought the east approach was 2 zones away, which it is, "exclusive".

I'll draw up the positions on Monday and we can see better what's going on.

Not sure about suppressing the remaining MiG. Might be better to run the risk at this point rather than waste ammo. Although I suppose we've got a decent surplus to use against 2 planes.

We must protect Driver. If he gets damaged, his ordnance is dropped and we fail the mission. I would send two AIMs from Buick, and if that fails, evade. We have plenty of ordnance.

How about two AIMs from Barbarian?

But then Barbarian couldn't attack this turn. He can still knock down a MiG.

Oh right. D'oh.

How about one AIM-9 from Poco and if he misses another AIM-9 from Buick? :)

Well, they're Dog's planes, so he should make the call.

I would have said the same, but only one pilot can suppress any given attack.

I didn't know that.

I've got to head out for a few hours. If you want to finish this turn without me, if the suppression on Driver doesn't take, he'll evade.

Let's have Poco take the shot. B'winkle [a call-sign that should be in the game ;)] is right about needing to expend all to keep Driver free & clear

Here's a board update part way through turn 2.

cid-0fab1e236bcb7de7.skydrive.live.com/s...Leader/PL-M01-T2.jpg

I've only put on one counter for the US planes since we're all sticking together for now.

I'm going to re-roll targets for the two attacks this turn. Seems the only fair way:

Infantry: Buick

MiG-17: Poco

So - now who fancies suppressing what? Personally I think we can risk not attempting to supress either of these. The infantry in particular has no chance of causing damage and both target planes are nearly out of weaponry.

I certainly wouldn't suppress the Infantry, and I might suppress the MiG-17, but it's up to Dog.
