Phantom Leader PBF

North: MiG-17
East: None
South: MiG-19
West: MiG-19
Center: None

So, turn 1 I'm guessing Easy Money is going to rocket the ZSU, while our two AtA guys launch 2 AIM7's each at North and South bandits respectively?

Where will the Western MiG-19 move?

In to the center this turn, assuming we're moving into the East approach. But it's too far away to hit at the moment even with Sparrows.

Oh yeah, North and South are the only available targets then.

Looking just a tad easier than your last target...

Yeah, two AIM-7s at each MiG in range.

OK, over target event is sensitive location that means 1 extra bandit on the center area. However, the draw comes up blank.

Rockets: 6, 9 - That's one dead ZSU

MiG-17: 1, 9 - dead MiG

MiG-19: 6, 5 - dead MiG

And that's a wrap for turn 1.

Turn 2 we all move into the now-empty western approach and our bandit friend moves into the center. I'm assuming a volley of 2 AIM-9's this turn: 3, 4 - enough with the +2 AtA bonus.

Turn 3 and we're over target with no bandits in the vicinity. Just the infantry to contend with who can't do any more than stress us out.

Easy Money offloads on the target: 7, 8, 8
That's three hits.

Infantry fire at Poco. I don't fancy his evading. Barbarian could use some rockets just to make sure? We've got plenty of bombs to drop after all.

Supression attempt: 8, 5 - easily enough to silence the AA fire

Gringo drops bombs: 5, 8, 3, 8
Easily enough to hit the target, and we're away!

Homebound event is Rules of Engagement. That means for our next mission we can only unload on enemy bandits if there's a US aircraft in the same area. Crap.

Updating stress and XP values now. Barbarian is now promoted and +1/+1 which is a nice addition.

I'm going to update the map now and put some counters on the right position. We're at 7VP with two days left.

Does that include both attacks and suppression?

We should probably choose a target with low fighter coverage.

It's just attacks.

Here's our map currently. We get 3 targets to pick from this turn, max politics value of 3.

F:AT Wing, HQ are currently entertaining a journalist from Rolling Stone. I'm afraid you're going to have to sit tight today: we can't afford the negative exposure.

Dreadful news, team. All three targets I picked this turn had politics value of 4+. That means we have no valid targets and we're going to have to sit on our hands this turn.

Normally you can spend SO points if this happens to draw another target. But obviously we have none left to spend.

On the bright side everyone is going to be fresh as a daisy for the next mission, and if we get another big target we'll have the opportunity to take it on for the needed VP.

Code:
No Name Po AS AB CS CB H V R I Pi S Special
12 SAM Sites 3 2 1 2 1 0 3 2 0 5 Add 6 SA-2's to center, destroy all 8 center sites to win
23	Convoy 1 1 0 2 1 7 3 0 1 4 S	Soft

That's an unfortunate anticlimax - both available targets this turn are only worth 3VP, so we can't go for tops.

But we'll just have to do the best we can. Given the restriction on attacking bandits I think we have to pick the convoy - it has virtually no air cover once we've taken off a center bandit thanks to our Intel value.

They know we blow everything to hell in a very vivid style and didn't want the journalist to catch wind about it.

Too bad Midas didn't get promoted. That might have given us another capable bomber.

Edit: Did the 3rd target have politics 4+ ? Convoy seems pretty easy. We can take lots of Napalm. ;) But I'd still prefer the CBU for Gringo. Are we still under Rules of Engagement?

Edit2: I can't find Target 23 on the map. What route package is it in?
