As for the vote: Earth Reborn sounds like the better game but Space Alert seems a good fit for uba's group.

You all shamed me into playing Earth Reborn this weekend. (It has the most votes as of Sunday afternoon).
Played Scenario 1 this afternoon. Loved it. It's like advanced Buffy the Vampire Slayer with some Space Hulk thrown in there.
It's a bit fussy with all the little bits, and something of an eyesore to look at. Setting it up was a chore as well. Plus no ranged weapons until scenario 3. Seriously considering just leaving it out on the table for the week so we can get to scenario 3 without all the fuss and bother of putting it away in between games.
