WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!
This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.
Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;
Two games enter! One game leaves!

Connery - no contest. The new bond, is a different character, he maybe closer to the books, but for me he is not bond, just a poor mans Bourne.
I designed a Hoodie image for my universities sci fi club, using Connery's face;
Unfortunately no one else liked it so it never got printed.
I love Roger Moore, most entertaining Bond, Brosnan and Dalton were both alright imo, Dalton was perhaps a bit too serious for the content of his films, and Brosnan perhaps to emotional about his women for a bond character.
Best Girl? Puuy Galore due to reasons already mentioned by others
Best song? Thunderball?

As big a fan as I am of Pierce Brosnan, he was easily the worst Bond. I don't fault him so much as I do the producers, who clearly tried to change Bond with what they thought the times required and ended up pussifying him thoroughly. Bond is an alpha. But Brosnan doesn't have the natural edge that Craig, Connery, or even Dalton does, and while he could easily have matched the smoothness of Moore, Brosnan was so neutered by the scripts that he played second fiddle to Bond girls and disappeared from the screen. In the end, he ends up being the one thing Bond shouldn't be--forgettable.
As for the best, it's definitely Craig. Just gets everything right.

VOte: Daniel Craig (although I would pick Roger Moore if I was allowed)
Best Bond Song: Living Daylights
Best Bond Girl: Dr. Holly Goodhead, Moonraker (I was seriously attracted to this one)
Best Villain: I love Jaws but I guess I can't pick him. I'll go with Christopher Walken's guy in View to a Kill. I want to say Le Chiffre but he always struck me a bad loser poker player and everything he was doing was because he lost at poker.

Connery, even though I can't really stand him much as an actor. The older movies feel like Bond movies, the new ones feel like Bourne movies. It too slick and polished and doesn't have the charm of the older ones. It feels pedestrian and carefully calculated to appeal to the modern film goer... not a natural change but a forced one based on market demands. I don't really have time for that.. in some ways the new ones are more like the original books but the booze and women are really underplayed and he is so much cooler and politically correct than I'd have imagined. Since neither of them have the balls to commit to the books properly I'll take the old liberties because at least it was a fun and original series, the new ones don't have the same personality.

Well, Bond has always shifted to absorb the current state of action movies. That's why Roger Moore installments tend to be goofy, that's why Pierce Brosnan ones tend to be a little more "sensitive" as Bullwinkle describes. And that's why the Craig ones are a little grittier, because action movies are gritty today.
I actually do think that Craig is my favorite Bond, partially because he was really my gateway into the whole series. Casino Royale was the first 007 movie I saw that I really "got," and then I went back and watched all the others and enjoyed that too. But I do think it's too early to call him the best.

Best Bond: Craig. Not only closer to the books, but I like his ruthless efficiency - he never seems like he's playing to the camera and just gets shit done. Craig also has the advantage of being written totally different than the other post Connery Bonds, who were just the same character, different actor. Moore's movies are almost painful to watch for me, mostly because of the disco era clothes and music. Dalton was stiff and wooden. Brosnan started off strong, but Die Another Day was a CGI clusterfuck that not surprisingly put the franchise into deep freeze for a while.
Connery is quite good of course.
Best Villain would have to be Goldfinger.
Best Bond chick : Pussy Galore.
