Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)

Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

SettingDome - Terrinoth VS Dominaria

Yes. They are called "orcs".

Funniest line of the thread! Thank you (again) Schweig.

God damn it, that was my first joke but I deleted and wrote something less funny. Then Schweig stole it.

Man, I still have this setting for a TV series / SciFi world called Fear Of A Black Planet, concerning a colony spaceship full of black people setting out for a world that they can inhabit without other races. The show features endless bickering among the passengers about their vision of the new Utopia and awesome music (including the title song). Of course a Chinese stowaway turns up somewhere

If only I could write...

I came to vote against Terrinoth, yet I didn't know what Dominaria was. So I looked it up. They're both stupid. I didn't even know Magic had a setting, and still have no idea why it would even need one.

Then I started thinking about settings, and why the hell does Twilight Imperium get a pass? Space cats were cool when I was a kid and played Wing Commander on my screaming-fast 486. Space turtles have never been cool. Michael Bay can fuck off too.

If FFG could negotiate a setting-license-for-life sort of deal for Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy it would be good for both companies. Warhammer might be a little bit stupid too, but at least it's fun-stupid. Just reading the flavor text in Horus Heresy makes you want to play it. Imagine Twilight Imperium 40k. Rune Wars and Rune Age in the Warhammer Fantasy setting. Glad I could help. I'll settle for 2% of Warhammer-branded revenue paid out quarterly.

Yeah, Magic has no actual setting, really. Not one that is immediately identifiable. Terrinoth's not much better.

Runebound and Runewars have boards, which is a physical representation of Terrinoth, so I'm voting with them. The closest thing Magic has is a playmat. Fuck playmats. I had a playmat with a little train scene on it for my 2 year old when she was that young, and thus playmats do not, in any way, construe theme or setting. They're furniture.
