Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)

Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

TRASHDOME! Tammany Hall v Shogun (Wallenstein)

I must apologize. I have been in close contact with the moderator, who has discovered that the end condition for Eurodome has been misprinted.

This is in fact the correct end condition:

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Eurodome is this:

Two cubes enter! Two cubes leave!

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Note: Edited so VPs work out properly.

Sounds potentially unbalanced. What's the catch-up mechanic?

There is no catch up mechanic. It's just that the number of cubes is hidden until the end of the game.

Cody, do you plan on doing up a 10 games on the front page? I'm interested in your list.

Magic was my #1 for 5 years (1997-2002), but thankfully I quit. In fact, I funded my boardgaming habit in the early/mid 2000s by selling off my Magic rares. That's one reason why I own too many games.

I'll check out the ten-finger thread and see what's up.

Edit: I pathetically had to make three separate "10 game" lists. I suck.

Shogun was pretty meh, can't see how Wallenstein would be that much of an improvement. TH is nice and vicious.

Vote:
Tammany Hall

I can't imagine ever choosing to play Tammany Hall over El Grande or even Mission Red Planet. Tammany Hall isn't an improvement over either of those designs. It's slightly more complex, possibly more interesting, but definitely less fun.

VOTE: Shogun

Because Shogun can be a bloodbath, and the cube tower seems to make people (that I play with) say, "Fuck it I don't remember how many cubes I've got in there but I'm attacking anyway."

I'm limited here based on experience. I've played Wallenstein about 6 times over the last 6 months. And have not played either TH or Shogun. My vote is for Wally even though the last turn each round is where most of the action takes place and the other turns are kinda buildup.

Shogun: 6
Tammany Hall: 4

Doesn't look like The Fort believes that Bill the Butcher and the Natives can defeat the Tokugawa Shogunate.
