This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.
Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;
Prometheus over Avatar. Avatar was a dull turgid movie, like Independence Day, that I have no idea how it made so much money. Story was dull and predictable and there is nothing there that makes me want to go back. Prometheus I similarly have no inclination to watch again, but there were 3 or 4 moments that were good amidst all the implausibility.

Meh. Not interested. They were both completely forgettable. I was one of the few people that wasn't impressed with Guardians. It had a turgid screenplay and tried too hard to be "SUMMER FUN MOVIE". Meanwhile (comic term), if you saw the trailer for Deadpool, you saw all the best jokes. I think I laughed once during the whole film because there was actually something new that was a good line.
And I'd chime in on an Avatar/Prometheus 'dome if only to write a novel on just how fucking awful the latter is. Ridley Scott's ability to tell an actual story has fallen a long, long way.
I ignored Avatar. I don't always react well to enhanced movie experiences, like 3D or whatever the hell Jackson was doing with the Hobbit movies.
The utter failure of the writing of Prometheus is maddening, but I intend to watch it again at some point with the volume off and some good music playing in the background. Visually, it's pretty impressive. The huge mistake with Prometheus was hiring that Damon Lindelof bozo who made such a mess out of Lost. Lindelof has some neat ideas for individual scenes, but can't tell a story that makes any sense.
Wow. The first CinemaDome beatdown. I had a feeling it was gonna go this way, but the pairing seemed natural. I agree with Josh that perhaps Deadpool may not be good for the genre long term, but then again I think it's kind of lame how we've taken this genre from kids and claimed it for adults.
