This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.
Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;
War of the Ring is one of my favorite games. I am amazed at the fact that nearly every game comes down to a situation of the losing player being able to say, "I would have won if I had one more turn." How did they design that in an asymetrical game?! Dripping with theme plus it offers varying play due to the event cards and how they're used. Definitely involved, rules-wise, but once you get in the groove, it's very very cool. And the expansion just makes it better. (Shameless plug: for rules help, check out my notes files on TOS for the base game and the expansion.)
Queen's Gambit is a nice system with great minis and a wonderful arrangement of three battles (plus the Anakin track) to manage at once. BUT the game is unbalanced -- it should be won by the good guys every time. I want to get it back to the table and use a time limit like they apparently do at the World Boardgaming Championships.
Balance issues aside, it's fun but doesn't hold a candle to the theme and strategy of War of the Ring.

War Of The Ring has crushed Queen's Gambit. Perhaps if the theme wasn't based on that sissy bitch Anakin and his walking bad idea of a sidekick the game could have done better. Now what's left of Queen's Gambit will be tossed into the trash compactor while somewhere Ken B sheds a single manly tear.
Phantom Menace would be a better movie if they did a Wookie Edit... replace Jar-Jar in every scene with a wookie, and dub over his dialogue with standard wookie noises. For hilarity, maybe include the original inane Jar-Jar dialogue as sub-titles.
However, it would be more in keeping with the original vision of George Lucas to do a Little Black Sambo Edit. Replace Jar-Jar in every scene with some dude in blackface make-up, and retain the original Jar-Jar dialogue.

, which was a fan-edited version of the movie that was better than the theatrical version. If you get a chance its worth watching.
