WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!
This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.
Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Oh wait we aren't talking about the SPI War of the Ring are we? That one had chits for severed heads.

Haven't played Space Hulk but War of the Ring is great in both design and to play, so I'm happy to vote having played only one of them.

I've had more fun playing Space Hulk than I have War of The Ring. Simple as that.

I have always preferred the epic scale war over the tatical battle, though Space Hulk is an awesome game in it's own right. I also have never cared for the WH40k setting or the artwork, but I have always liked Tolkien.

This is like having to choose between bacon and sausage.
Although I think both games are made of sheer awesome, War of the Ring gains a slight edge for the epic feel.

This is a tough one. I would say I've had more fun playing War of the Ring, and I think it's a superior and more interesting game overall, but I have real trouble getting it to the table because at 3-4 hours it occupies a time spot which I find difficult to get just 2-players: if I have that much time in which to game, almost inevitably there are more gamers around. Space Hulk I've played a lot more.
In the final crunch I'd have to ask which game would I keep, if I could only keep one. And the answer is:
Space Hulk
Because there's no point keeping a game I don't get to play very often.

I think War of the Ring is one of the greatest games ever, but I'll vote SPACE HULK, because it is so much easier to get people to play, and it has such nicely detailed minis and board sections. Plus, my wife really likes it.

Additional thoughts:
1. This is probably one of the most combined awesome in a Trashdome thread ever. Have we done Arkham vs. Descent? I'm getting senile. Where is my penile cream?
2. This would be one of the most polarizing Trashdomes ever...except no one will be upset if either game wins. Ahhhhhhh....there's my creme.
