Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)

Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

Trashdome: Fury of Dracula vs. Arkham Horror

For some reason it put on three of the same comment... deleting the text of this one.

And this one. Perhaps it is due to the new avatar.

The avatar is James Steed from The Avengers, BTW....seeing as we're all on the whole "couture" kick today. It was time for a new one anyway.

I really love both games but the nod goes to Fury of Dracula. I'm always up for a game of FOD because it sets up and breaks down fast, plays fairly quickly (Usually; I once won a game as the count where all my vampires came from new days dawning. That motherfucker dragged on forever), and is always a blast.

Fury of Dracula seems like it should be great, but it grew tedious the one time I played it (though I do plan to play it again soon and give it another honest chance). Arkham Horror is all kinds of fantastic.

ARKHAM HORROR

That's not John Steed. This is John Steed.

Also, Arkham Horror.

Fury vs Arkham

One Against all is better than Co-op: Fury wins
Combat System: Arkham wins
Number of players Fury 2-5 vs. Arkham 1-8: Arkham wins
Theme: Tie
Variablity of Game: Arkham wins
Pacing Fury is like a baseball or soccer game, slow paced and than a lot of excitement. Arkham's pacing is like hockey or basketball. So it depends on my mood which is better.
My wifes favorite: Fury
My daughters favorite: Arkham

Winner: Arkham

Yes, that 's classic John Steed and nothing wrong with that. I went for the modern version.

I've still never played Fury (FOR SHAME!) but Arkham is my favorite game ever.

After playing one game of each this weekend for the first time, I am craving that second playthrough of Fury more than Arkham Horror, therefore, Fury of Dracula gets my vote.

Wow... a Trashdome that features two games that I own AND play. While I do enjoy Arkham Horror, sometimes the sheer scope of the thing can diminish its "bang for the buck" (with my group, at least). FoD, on the other hand, is always fun, engaging and full of surprises... and never feels long or rambling.

Vote: Fury Of Dracula

Here, fixed that for you.

And I'm sorry, but this episode of trashdome is just too nice.

My vote will have to go to Arkham Horror. It may be a little unfair since I've only played FoD twice and early "Newspaper Reports" skewed the games. I've played AH over twenty times though and I still enjoy it immensely, so this has to be my winner.

I have to disagree. It's truly humbling to be outwitted and defeated by a bunch of cardboard.

Vote: Arkham Horror

I'm with NeonPeon. I just played my third game ever of AH this weekend, and we got fucking OWNED by Yig and his merciless minions. I never felt so absolutely helpless playing FoD.

Vote: AH.

(As an aside, Vampires may kill you, but being lost in Time and Space when the bad dude shows up actually DEVOURS your soul. Cthluhu FTW)
