Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)

Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

Trashdome: Playmobil vs Lego

Vote: LEGO

I am impressed with Playmobil--they make some fucking nice toys. My kids have a mix of Legos and Playmobil and were they answering this poll, we could have some debate. But for me--the Lego customization takes the cake. Playmobil goes into some dark territory, as noted by Not Sure:

But only with Lego can you invent your own dark territory.

Yeah, c'mon, when has Lego ever produced a Drunken Hobo?!

Or something appropriate for kids to mock up the current nuclear crisis, like a Hazmat crew?

Or two sweaty construction workers and a port-a-potty:

Or better still, the sanitation worker that has to clean up that port-a-potty once the construction crew mega-dumps in it:

Yeah, Playmobil has it ALL covered! Beat that, Lego! :p :D

I also have a weird dual-pack of a Playmobil cop and what appears to be a G12 protestor (or similar tattooed anarchist). No pictures I can find online, maybe I'll take one.

Oh yeah, I'm familiar with that one too! It rocks:

Goes very nicely with the Playmobil airport scanner:

vote: Lego

Lego was my everything as a kid. I had a suitcase full of it and it was wild the stuff I came up with. phallis-this and phallis-that...wait, what movie am I totally ripping off? Superbad? I can't remember...

anyway, there are few pains in the world like the pain associated with stepping on a piece of lego in your bare feet. It's horrific. So Lego gets my vote for having all sorts of uses

I'd say I picked the right woman.

but look how awesome an engagement ring would have fit over the laser beam? Or what if the engagement ring was put in the trench as the exhaust port?

BOY DID YOU DROP THE BALL

Playmobil is for the weak and cowardly. Lego all the way.

Lego Panzers.

I've never even heard of Playmobil...But Lego is classic, it has its own theme park and fucking MINDSTORMS. I seriously can't wait till my son is old enough for me to teach him how to program robots to chase and kill his friends.

Wedding rings keep the other men away.
Death Stars... not so much.

my favourite thing I've noticed about wedding rings is other men and sometimes women (but mostly men) defending a married woman who's alone, saying stuff, "hey fella, you don't see that ring on her finger?"

this happens a lot at poker tables and always surprises me. One time it happened when my wife and I were at the same table but no one knew we were together. It was cool.

Well, she has a wedding band, but she was just fine at keeping the other men away for six years before the ceremony.

Vote: Playmobil

Although you can't get the really good ones in the States. My Viking longship is my favorite. Roman Legionaries, Ancient Egyptian soldiers, ACW, Zulus. I just really dig the style. Check out these sideburns:

Legos were cool back in the day but now they are so frigging expensive. And have so many specialized parts they really only make the one thing they are supposed to make.

Ooo, I almost forgot my favorite Playmobil construction worker set:

Construction office for the weak-of-bowels foreman!** Check out the crapper right next to his desk! No privacy wall or anything, not even a modesty curtain! Mmm, smell that coffee, or is that...??!!! OH GAWD!! SOMEONE LIGHT A MATCH!! THAT'S FRICKIN' AWFUL!

**Easily convertible to a prison cell should your workers ever try to form a union!
