I am in the middle of my HeroQuest redux, and I now have a bunch of cards which will require sleeving. I know ~NOSSING~ about sleeves. I do know that I'd rather go without than order MayDay.

Can you fine velociraptors of gaming give me the skinny on some reputable sleeve manufacturers whose sleeves are a little on the stiff side (curled 80# linen stock) and that are, ideally, 80x55 MM?

Fantasy Flight Games' Standard American card sleeves (green pack) are 56x89mm, are good quality and pretty cheap, between $2.25-2.50 online for a pack of 50. Dragon Shield mini sleeves are 62x89mm, but are thick and tough, with really strong welds. They are more expensive however, $3.50-4.00 online for a pack of 50.

Pete, you might want to check out Swan Panasia sleeves, they come in a ton of sizes like Mayday sleeves.

I use Ultra-pros not because I have vast knowledge but because that's what the local store sells. I have no complaints and they seem to be quality and it's not Mayday.

FFG and UlttaPro (not the cheap penny sleeves) have been reliable for me. If you go Mayday don't be surprised to find that only 40% fit and even those 40% aren't the same size. Maybe you'll get lucky but my experience with Mayday has been laughably horrible.

I just got some ultrapro sleeves and they seem pretty awesome so far. Granted, to this point all I had purchased was penny sleeves.

I bought 2 packs of used sleeves on eBay. MayDay. They're the only sleeves that are the dimensions I want.

I have failed you all.

I've had generally good luck with Mayday sleeves, at least most of the time. The premium sleeves have generally worked better for me than the "penny" ones, in terms of consistent sizing and whatnot, although a few have split.

My bigger problem with sleeves in general, regardless of brand, is just finding them consistently at a decent price. My collection is spread across Ultra Pro (penny and "premium"), Mayday (penny and premium), and FFG, depending on what sizes worked and what was available at any given time for a reasonable price. It's sometimes hard to remember which I used where and to find the right packs to match up. And Mayday does seem to run out of particular types fairly frequently.

Only MayDay seems to have the size I need, 80mm X 55mm. Apparently my PnP HeroQuest cards and Settlers cards are the same size.

Ya know, you are just like those asshats that constantly ask me what used car guy/mechanic they should use. A good one who is honest and such. I give them a list of possible candidates which they promptly ignore and end up using who ever the hell they were going to use in the first place.

Why even ask!

Jesus, Pete.

Ultra-Pro #82915 is sized for Catan, though they say 54x80, so if your cards are 55, I'm not sure if it'd work...

Edit: After checking, Mayday actually says 54x80 on their packaging, so I'd go for the Ultra-Pro. Way better quality.
