I just picked up some minis for this too -- I wonder if they are the same ones. Post your pics when done so I can check them out.

Pink robot dudes are almost enough to make me wanna play Warmachine. Is that an official color scheme or are you just trying to impress me?

Pink isn't really official for any of the factions in the fluff but it is relatively commonly used in the community, specifically for breast cancer fundraiser events. I've definitely seen some excellently painted pink armies online.

Also speaking of pink minis, nothing beats these tyranids:

Edit: I guess I'll contribute to the topic more directly. I've been working on various warmachine models (Cryx) for the last year or so. Currently a unit of satyxis raiders is waiting to be painted up. I'll try and post pictures of things I've already completed so far.

Fuck you SaMoKo, now I don't want to paint anymore. Those Nids are RIDICULOUS. I bet Matt's all moist now.

It's not pink. . . it's elderberry.

P.s. It looks a lot darker on the table. It's just so bright in the sun. It is the closest thing I have to the official color without having to go out and buy new paints. . . again. Plus, I like my reaper paints.

I've yet to try Reaper paints. The Citadels seem to be working okay for me now. I bought one P3 because they didn't have a Citadel color I wanted and that seems pretty nice.

I've got Citadel and Reaper. I have about twice as many Reapers though. Maybe it's just because they were the first brand I used, maybe it's because they are about $1.50 cheaper a pot. I've noticed that the quality of the paint changes from color to color. For instance, Citadel Chaos black is a little runny, and Reaper Golden Flesh can get a little thick on your model if you're not careful.

Here's my finished Grek Knight Purifiers. I'm not that happy with how they turned out. Too much visible blue with the wash. I need to do a heavier drybrush and maybe try different dilution ratio with the ink. I'm thinking of adding a little black ink to it. The first 28mm's I've painted in years, the next batch will be better, these are just generally sloppy. I will add some writing to those banners some time in the future.

For the love of God drill out these barrels ;) If you just want a blue sheen on metal then GW washes aren't a good idea (I'm assuming you are using GW washes). They pool in recesses so you will get blue "shadows". You could try fixing it using some dark brown wash but only in recesses. Insted of blue wash you could just do a blue glaze. Very diluted paint with some medium (too much water will cock up your paint). I usually dilute it to the point it's not really visible when you apply it and only shows up once it dries, but you could use a bit more pigment if you want to save time.

Those are Valejo inks and it was a poor drybrushing issue more than anything else. I blew through those models way quicker than I should have. I want to get playable with 40k but I obviously need to slow it down or I won't be happy with how any of them turn out. As far as the bolter barrels, yeah, you're right. It would have taken just seconds to drill those holes with my Dremel.

Okay, amateur mini painting show and tell time. Here's my quick and dirty job on Cave Evil minis. THe photos don't catch the colour...I can't figure out how to take proper pictures.

That purple wizard looks like Rob Zombie. Sweet.

They look great for a simple 1-color drybrush. Good stuff.

Hatch what did you use as the base for the 1st necro? I have the same one which as you know keep falling over.

Did you buy duplicates to match each colour?
