I wish that I could see Ubarose's pics of her FoD painted miniatures. The pics are all kaput.

I took a lazy route inspired by White's chess piece idea. I ordered these a few years ago. They're not as bright in person as they look on the order page, but they're still pretty bright. Hoping they wear down with use.

My GW FoD was missing some pieces so we were using Arkham Horror minis for the investigators for a while. Chess pieces are better, and I never would have thought of it.

I bet these could be sanded and stained.

That's exactly what I ordered for GW's The Fury of Dracula, but I haven't gone through the trouble of weathering them. Using the pawns for the hunters and a little Dracula mini for behind the screen.

You should try this Citadel technical paint called Typhus Corrosion...it's kind of like a wash, a little thicker so it has more pigment. Still translucent, but it won't just wash into the crevasses. It might not work with those having a glossy finish/not being primed, but I think it might darken them down and also make them look more worn.

I can't imagine sanding those.

My set of above isn't nearly as bright nor is it as thick with paint. Still has a decent wood grain to it. I was thinking about doing a little damage to them with a disposable nail file, but haven't got around to it.
