8 Player Dungeonquest Map; PvP Combat

I don't know if you guys heard, but this dude on BGG designed a map for Dungeonquest that supports up to 8 players! Here's the image. (I'm surprised it wasn't taken down.)

All the towers are equidistant to the dragon, and the same distance as in the original map. The towers are not all equidistant to each other however, but I think it's pretty cool that some paths will be more likely to intersect.

The designer of that map pointed out that the center could get quite crowded, so he suggested some kind of Player vs. Player rules for booting opponents out of the way. So, I wrote down some rules for just that, but it's more than just shoving dudes around. Here's the link. I just wrote what came to me - don't expect perfection or neatness.

I think it could get quite insane (in a good way), as bloody free-for-alls erupt to claim the most valuable treasures...I imagine the tension build-up would be amplified, and survival odds should be even lower. Muahahaha!

Well just thought I'd share...any ideas or criticisms are welcome. I'm going to try to print the map for testing on my next game day (after Xmas). My biggest fear is that PvP ends up dominating the entire game. We'll just have to see how it goes!

Damnit -- BGG is down, so I will have to wait to check it out. Sounds awesome though.

I'm amazed that not only is this file still there, but on the same image page at BGG is a complete and near perfect image of the original board.

Ha, good point. I definitely heard complaints about some Dungeonquest player aids being removed, so they did not forget the game altogether...
