I spend a lot more time thinking about and obsessing over games than I actually do playing them. So let's give a shout out to the games you can't get to the table, used to play but don't own anymore or that game that's recently come out that you haven't gotten your hands on yet.

Right now my brain is abuzz with Necromunda, the old GW skirmish/campaign style minis game of gang warfare in the 40K universe. It was reading about Relic that got me thinking about 40K and reading the dev diaries for the upcoming Shadowrun Sprawl Gangers that has me obsessed with campaign style minis games (doesn't hurt the Sprawl Gangers designers frequently mention Necromunda as an inspiration for their design).

My best friend and I went in together on the Necromunda box set back in '95 when it first came out, after we had dabbled in 40K a little bit. Man we loved it. My Cawdors versus his Eschers and occasionally playing his cousin who had some Spyrers. Some games got heated, I usually got trounced, but I still have found memories.

So right now I'm thinking about all those GW skirmish games and how they offer that unique campaign/rpg experience. I really just want to go balls-out crazy and buy a couple gangs from GW, some of these awesome snap together terrain ( www.amazon.com/Pegasus-Hobby-4902-Constr...KDI6/ref=pd_sim_t_11 ) and show up to 40K night and try to recruit any slobby, sweaty minis player I can into playing this with me.

TWILIGHT IMPERIUM 3E. Sitting there in the closet ready to go. Setting up for my 40th birthday this year. It will happen.

I want to play my CHAOS IN THE OLD WORLD a lot more. Like, weekly. There's a ton of game in there.

Oh yeah, I got my first taste last month when I met up with Jeff White at game night. Really good game, I would love to play this some more. I played as Khorne, which was good for my first time, but Khorne's strategy is totally different to everybody else.

You know, when teleportation is finally invented it's going to make getting together to game so much easier.

I love Chaos in the old world. It's one of my favorite games. Only wish I could play it more.

Since the thread about the new chess pieces I've been thinking a lot about chess. I started browsing a Yasser Seirawan book I read a long time ago and it's given me the chess bug.

I wish I could sell my gaming group on Blood Royale. I also need to find an opponent for Duel in the Dark.

Devil's Cauldron...always...ever...Devil's Cauldron...not any pissant scenario...Full Blown MFing CAMPAIGN...linked with Where Eagles Dare...4 players...as long as it takes to get it done...

That is my current gaming fantasy. Alas, I have attempted to learn it three times but playing scenarios solo is dull. Also, you never really know if you are learning wrong when you learn solo.

Maybe someday...maybe at WBC...maybe...

Yeah, I've got some wargames begging to be played. Chaos in the Old World comes to mind as well. I actually get to play some of my 2 player games now, otherwise I'd go with those.

This damn place has got me really interested in tracking down a cheap copy of Circus Imperium, with no luck yet.

ANDROID NETRUNNER

I have never played it but am told that it scratches the same itch that Magic scratches. I would love to play it at some point (or own it).

..speaking of Magic, I should admit that i do fantastize about that quite a bit. I think about which decks I want to try against which decks, which tweaks I want to make to existing decks (I do prefer limited over constructed cuz I like the subtleties). In fact just yesterday I caught myself fantastizing of making a 5-colour deck with only 3 creatures in it for Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013. I think I will build it tonite. Can't wait...

Star Wars LCG. I probably spend a few minutes on cardgamedb.com every day to tinker with another deck. Maybe someday I'll actually get to play what I have created.

Pax Porfiriana, I just snagged a copy last week and I'm excited about trying my first Eklund game.

&

Cave Evil, godsdammit! I still haven't got to play this since buying and painting my sweet Necromancer minis.

CCGs and LCGs are perfect games to fantasize over. That's part of their brilliance, gives you more to the hobby than just playing games.

Netrunner is awesome, Barney. Feels totally different compared to Magic though.

I can't stop looking at GW minis. Man, they've come a long way since my days in the mid 90s.
