Just watched the series finale of Justified. It didn't end the way I expected. Now I'm bummed because there is no more. :/

I just finished it too. I thought the finale should have been two hours long--it felt a little compressed, and I was surprised by how many people *didn't* die. It was well done. That was a pretty great show. As one tv writer said, it sits at the top of the tier just below The Wire and The Sopranos. I have seen neither of those shows, but I did see The Shield. The Shield had the single most gut wrenching, merciless finale in television history.

The Shield did have some hardcore dramatic moments. More than the finale, the "really bad" thing that Shane did...

I was a little let down with the final episode of Justified. It felt more like an epilogue than an actual finale to the story. I didn't need everyone to die or anything, but it just felt a little stale and unexciting. Understated even.

Although, that final scene with Raylan and Boyd was great.

Finished Justified last night. A solid series, overall. I felt the final episode was better at capping off the season than the series. I go into more detail here . (No spoilers until the warning.)

Not sure what's going to replace it for me.

Nice review. I won't quote you because of spoilers, but I agree about the creators not closing any doors. There will never be a return to The Shield.

I watched the leaked Supergirl pilot. I like that Kara's human foibles aren't fake like Clark's. She's a stereotypical young girl unsure of herself or her place in the world, but at least she has a personality. I also think its great they aren't going the Smallville route. She's in costume and using all the Superman powers by the end of the first episode. I'm a big Superman/Supergirl fan and feel like I've been waiting for this since 1984 so that alone will get me to watch more. I could see the show getting really good or really bad depending entirely on the writing.

We've been watching Orphan Black, which is super good. Started the second season over the weekend.

For those of you not yet tired of me telling you how awesome Hannibal is, Season 3 starts this week. You still have time to catch up!

I don't know if it belongs in this thread but season six of COMEDIANS IN CARS GETTING COFFEE starts this Wednesday evening. I'm looking forward to it. They're always fun to watch.

Anyone have any thoughts on 12 Monkeys? I've watched two episodes and think I will finish the first season. It's interesting seeing the parallels to the movie and it's decently done, although I find myself wishing a real network was backing it. Also, the main actors are no Bruce Willis or Madeleine Stowe.

Yeah we started S3 on Sunday. They've mentioned the 5 season series cap, so that's good. 50 episodes is barely over 2 seasons of regular shows and keeps things tight.

I gave up on Justified late in the 4th season. The first season was okay, the second season was great, and the third season was pretty good. Even the fourth season was okay, though the scene with the convoy and the Iraqi War vet sniper felt very contrived. Still, Raylon's smirk was getting on my nerves, and Boyd had changed from compelling character to plot device. After the main storyline of the fourth season wrapped up, the final episode felt like boring filler, so I gave up five minutes in, and never looked back.

man, had a sad moment last night channel flipping. I was playing Magic 2015 too late and had missed the 11pm showing of the Daily Show so I had to kill time for the 12:05am rebroadcast. So I'm watching a bit of Nightly Show and then they go to the panel part of that show which is always terrible so I start channel flipping. I find Kimmel and tonight show no problem but aren't feeling it so I keep flipping between the same group of familliar channels trying to find Letterman, not understanding why it's not coming up..... then I remembered.

I was surprised to be hit with feelings of sadness there.

I'm always disappointed when I see "Conan" in the channel guide and for a brief moment I think it's a showing of Conan the Barbarian before I remember.
