Restoration is 100% Kickstarting Crossbows & Catapults. They said it will either be their next Kickstarter or the one after that.

Oh I’ll have one of those please. Hope they do the doofy expansions for it . Whatever happened to Omega Virus?

Charlie have you looked at Browncastle Crokinole boards? They aren’t that much more than Mayfair, especially if you can get a ding and dent one. It’s a family fun outfit and the quality looks quite a bit higher. They also ship free which puts the price price (without a useless bag) pretty close to parity, and Mayday gets $0 from you.

Those boards look great, but there is only one damaged board available and it has a big chip out of the center. I dunno, free shipping is hugely appealing, but it doesn't come with any discs or anything.

To get a non damaged board from them is around $260 minimum, plus discs.

My buddy has a Mayday board and the carrying case is actually very nice. I'm not sure how I would store it otherwise (leaving it in the shipping box sounds a hassle and I don't want to hang it on the wall of my unfinished basement).

Ah, I didn’t see that they don’t come with anything LOL. Still I’m kind of thinking about one of their five hole boards. Carting it with 4 sets of discs, scoreboard, powder, numbers, and easy outs it’s $288. Not quite the value I was after but still below average. I guess five hike is less popular, the board alone is $188.

I dunno, I feel like craftsmanship and quality is important with Crokinole…I’m willing to pay more fit that and get something not mass-manufactured to loose tolerances.

But…a $99 board is appealing, I get it.

I'd like to think Mayday learned something from their last attempt at boards ( thanks in no small part to Pete Ruth's excellent article ). And I don't hear nearly as much griping about their sleeves as I used to . Maybe they've sort of turned the corner quality wise ??

Pete's expose was on their first run, which was shoddy and had tons of issues. They've done six runs since then and I've found few complaints.

I've played on a buddy's Mayday board and it's great, although I'm not an expert.

The issue is more that they're a shitty company who have shown poor moral standards, such as publishing a Tic Toc Woodsman knockoff after letting their original contract lapse so they could avoid paying the designer.

I hope RG does C&C vikings proud. I adore my OG set but, as you may imagine, the plastic is a bit brittle. Especially the expansions (minotaur & cyclopes.) The caroms, flags, minis, and even mats are still holding up well.

Had I known about the C&C plans, I may not have backed this second round of a game called Catapult Feud. I'm pretty impressed with the quality as is that colorful bag of gas Tommy V. I was pleased to see female representation in the minis.

I pledged the main game with the hydra. I'll report back in several months!

I have Catapult Feud. I am very happy with it. The catapult and rubber balls are great and I think I now prefer that over the crossbow and plastic discs from Crossbows and Catapults in the 80s. I did get the expansions for extra bricks but were I do it again I’d stick with the core and the SG. The different weapons are no where near as fun as the catapult. Also, get the mats and extra balls. The hydra to me looks like something I just wouldn’t use.

You will have a good quality Crokinole board for the rest of your life. Mine will be passed down to my nephew when I'm dead. It is worth the extra cost. Maybe cut back on the Starbucks and all-in Kickstarters for a while to save money.

Annnnnd...

CMON cleared NINE MILLION DOLLARS with their Marvel Zombicide KS.

I don't know how to process this sum. I'm gobsmacked.
Never in my wildest imagination would I have guessed this project would be so popular.

I suspect I'll just pour a Manhattan this evening, and rewatch Return of the Living Dead. Maybe the fifth episode of Peacemaker.

Remember when people thought $100 FFG coffin boxes were expensive?
