Oh man, TGA looks perfect for Trashfest or one of it's affiliates. I think I'm in for the base set.

Rumor is that the Marvel Zombicide all-in package's shipping costs $200 in the U.S. Granted, the game costs $400-$600.

Pretty soon this stuff is going to start getting expensive.

$200 for freight? Yeah... no game is worth that.

Anyone who went all-in on Marvel Zombicide is not sensitive to shipping prices.

There's people already complaining about it on BGG and dropping their pledges.

The $200 price though is for the all-in, which includes a 3 foot tall Galactus miniature. The shipping for just the core box and some expansions is $100, which is still crazy.

This will likely kill off smaller companies trying to produce big games. Going to be interesting.

So you can drop your pledge after the end date? Or are we still before it?

You can drop a pledge before the pledge manager closes, which is still a couple months away. The problem is that CMON take 10% from your refund to cover Kickstarter fees.

Some people, who were smart, pledged $1 and planned to wait and see before kicking in more money after the campaign

I think the big problem here is that the campaign ended just a month and a half ago or so. How can your shipping estimate be 100% off for most pledges in that short of time? They are constantly shipping pledges due to the dozens of outstanding campaigns they have. They are delivering Marvel United right now to people.

All information I've seen is that shipping prices have gotten slightly better in the past couple of months (just slightly though).

It almost seems like CMON hid the real prices hoping to pull people in thinking many would not cancel due to the sunk cost.

CMON are rip-off artists, full stop. Yet there are folks shrugging this off “welp, shipping is high all over whaddya do”. Those fuckers ran the numbers and knew ballpark what to expect and also knew that they could charge whatever they wanted and the suckers that buy their tabletop diarrhea would line right the fuck up. The 10% cancellation fee is outrageous- at that point it’s not “backing” at all but putting down a deposit.

And this is for a Marvel Zombicide game with a 3 foot unpainted junk statue of Galactus…FFS.

To each his own and all that but I could not live with myself if I owned a 3 foot tall plastic Galactus statue. And I'm a dude thinking about having something from Fallout hanging over his fireplace.

If I'm willing to fly Wednesdays, I can book round-trip to Europe for less than the cost of this game.

CMON started out 20 years ago as New Wave Miniatures.

If anyone else remembers them, they became known for taking orders for products they didn’t have and stealing that money from customers by perpetually telling them things were on back order. This was a bigger deal back then because we hadn’t seen that kind of scam in online gaming retailers before.
Eventually they went “bankrupt” with lots of unhappy customers while CMON now flourishes.

Agreed. I'd have to have at least a 6-foot statue.

Maybe people can just buy tickets for their pledges? I'd imagine Galactus would have to have his own seat, though, unless the games are considered "lap children."

I backed the Reaper 6 Kickstarter campaign, but at about 1/10 of what I backed Reaper 5. It appears I'm not alone in that, as they look like this campaign will make about half of what they raked in for Reaper 5. Although $1.5 million-ish is nothing to scoff at, I suppose.
