IIRC, Bitewing also did the reprint for Quo Vadis, Zoo Vadis, and they worked directly with Knizia to add new things to the game (like the distinct abilities of each faction, in addition to the theme.) These are both new designs, but they note in the campaign that one of them (Ichor, I think) is a reworking of an earlier design, while Iliad is a brand-new thing.

We've been talking about them a bit on the Discord. Apparently, Dan Thurot LOVES Iliad, but thought Ichor was just OK. My problem with them is that they are 2-player, which I have much less opportunity to engage in these days.

Bitewing also did Cascadero and Cascadito through crowdfunding.

Interestingly, it was Dans' negatives that sold me on Ichor. A brain-burning Knizia? Sign me up.

My Crossbows and Catapults pledge arrived Saturday. The weapons perform great. The rules are easy to parse and the gameplay has been brought up a good bit with more meat. MUCH better than catapult kingdoms.

Upcoming this year that I have definite interest in (OK, will pledge):
Blood - standee edition, looks like a lighter version of Darkest Dungeon with interesting card combat. gamefound.com/en/projects/lms/blood_lms

Decided to drop this - they weren't offering any standee versions for the expansions so I would have been getting a quite expensive (once shipping and 20% VAT was added) core standee-only game, I have Darkest Dungeon so even though it is a longer game I'm not paying a lot of coin just to get a lite version of it.

Also waiting for the Cyberpunk 2077 - The Board Game gamefound.com/en/projects/go-on-board/cy...-2077-the-board-game project to show up this year, it looks interesting so far.

Restoration Games teased Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the next cooperative Unmatched set and coming to GameFound in September. Hard for something to be more of an auto-buy for me.

This is preying upon my collector goblin mind. I'm trying to remain rational and remember I recently unloaded all of my Unmatched collection but TMNT is a much better license than Marvel for my interests.

Huh. That's actually LESS appealing to me, since all of my Unmatched stuff is the non-IP-oriented material. I have Funkoverse for the latter, so I decided to stick with the mythological, historical, and occasionally literary (Shakespeare!) characters as a contrast. I've been kind of tempted by the sets that have Cloak and Dagger (was a big Bill Mantlo fan, back in the day) and Bullseye and Elektra and so forth, since that at least avoids the main thrust of MARVEL. But when I think about picking those up, I think about just how disaffected from that whole scene that I am these days. I still can't get TMNT: Shadows of the Past on the table often enough to keep it off the trade/sell block. Having the cowabunga dudes in Unmatched just isn't a real draw for me.

It will be the easiest thing in the world to table for me. My eldest reads my IDW collections, and it’s cooperative. I’m going to get sick of playing it.

And then they can team up with dinosaurs and Daredevil. What could possibly go wrong?

It's not kickstarter or a game, but the Hasbro Pulse 'kickstarter like' site has a Cobra Rattler 'toy' for $325 bones. HOLY HELL does that thing engage some nostaligia threads deep in my brain, I used to LOVE that toy as a kid and it features in some of my favorite GI Joe comics. Do I NEED a super premium and expensive version that will just sit on a shelf, collecting dust? No. Do I WANT it to bring me joy though, YES!!!

They have apparently done a HISS tank and a Dragonfly helicopter, but these things are 3 feet long for 6" figures, who has this kinda space?? If they ever do that WHALE hovercraft it would be 4 feet long!

Well Cyberpunk 2077 just didn't do anything to excite me or that I'd want to play over other games I have so that was ignored.

Then came the very interesting Story of Many, this does look very good but is just too close to an rpg for me and I have a lot of games doing the rpg-boardgame hybrid thing so another one that wouldn't get played, so not backed as well.

Finally it is Awaken realms BIG game for the year Lands of Evershade, another narrative game in (apparently) a massive world they have created and that is also a bit more down the rpg route than their previous awesome efforts (ISS Vanguard, Etherfields, Tainted Grail) but, as for Story of Many, I'm wondering if it is to far down the rpg path for me to really want to play. And then they have put up a (IMO) disastrous playthru video of it with three 'old uncle' types from the Dicetower who looked disinterested and were just saying cringy stuff - that one video has moved me from a dead cert to back a few months back to 'lucky if I'll back the $1 option'.
I have had three attempts to watch it so far and haven't even got half way - see what any of you guys think Lands of Evershade prototype playthrough - but for me unless they get a new video out that doesn't make me slash my wrists and fall asleep at the same time they may have lost me.

I do have one that is exciting me for next year though, from my second favourite design team (who brought Aeon Trespass: Odyssey) Into the Unknown - Enormity .

I'm pledging for this book covering the history of Electronic Gaming Monthly. I'm also getting the poster of all of the covers. Seems pretty neat to me.

I wasn't planning on going in on the newest Root kickstarter but honestly they got me with the price (50 bucks).

I need another game like I need a hole in my head but Animalcatraz looks like the kind of backstabbery that I really like.

Animal inmates doing crimes, trying to escape or survive a prison riot.

For a moment I wondered if someone was re-making the classic Alcatraz board game, but with trendy anthropomorphic animal characters...alas, not the case.

I will 100% agree with the hole in head analogy, however.
