Final Girl is looking like a promising solo game in the vein of Camp Grizzly, and unfortunately equally as pricey if you want variety (4 settings x 4 villains). I enjoyed its predecessor Hostage Negotioator, but this seems like an improvement on the design.

I haven't backed anything for a few months, but I tossed my hat in yesterday on Torchbearer second edition.

Torchbearer came out long after my RPG group faded. Burning Wheel was maybe our favorite game though so a stripped down version geared towards gritty AD&D dungeon crawling sounds fantastic.

After a 12 year hiatus, our RPG group reunited this past week to begin an Edge of the Empire campaign. Hopefully we're still playing RPGs in a year when Torchbearer 2e arrives.

I gave in and backed Lost Kingdoms latest terrain KS for the Aztec/Mayan and Mesopotamian(?) inspired settings. Beautiful stuff.

Me too. I sold my 1e stuff a few months ago — no special inside knowledge, but it wasn’t getting played, and I had a hunch that BWHQ was working on this. Now I’m playing in 2 RPG groups per week, with maybe a third on the horizon.

Collectively, people are backing a lot less Kickstarter projects than before.

Certainly not surprising. It's hard to pre-order something years in advance when we're all worried about furloughs and layoffs.

Saw this update today for the expansion for Anachrony, a game I quite like.

This has to be pushing toward Peak Excess, right? I suppose my revulsion was partly borne of the fact that I already paid out for the official wooden insert for the base game because the components are so many and varied that bags were a hassle. And I'm as "a place for everything" as anyone, but yeesh. Seems to me like the problem (apart from my own self, I suppose) is not that there are 100 custom trays and a zillion finely wrought parts but that the game itself seems to need them when it probably doesn't. I doubt it, but it wouldn't be the worst thing if this all encouraged a reassessment and a reappreciation for moderation if not minimalism.

Those Torchbearer 2 books would be real tempting if I had ever played my Torchbearer 1 book.

The lengthy essay on the design of the component tray is impressive. The only thing it's missing is a haptic engine.

I backed this cool looking marble course -- looks like you can still order from the below link. Thought it would be good to have for the winter with the kids....especially if, as I suspect, we are still going to be staying at home most of the time

Less than 48 hours left in this pax campaign and I still just don't know. I'd definitely do it with work certainty since I don't have the expansion. The art in this KS looks shitty and not a huge improvement on the tiny box edition though. Maybe I should just wait to find someone dumping their first edition expansion? I dunno man.

I predict a 100% chance of you being able to get stuff on the aftermarket that have a 0% chance of being played, or at least not knowing the difference anyway.

I think I'm at the point of realisation that Cole Wehrle does Eklund much better than Eklund himself and also dare I say that his work is better when it is published away from SMG. I'd rather put money into the 2nd edition of John Company when it goes out later this year. Saying that, I eventually passed on Oath because the two-player game looks weak and I don't want to replace Root at home with something else when we're still getting a lot out of it (it's one of very few games that both kids will play at the same time). Nobody at my club is ever going to stick with any of this stuff for more than a single play so I'd only be prestige-buying shelf toads anyway.

What are opinions on backing the upcoming Nemesis expansion, especially for someone that didn’t back the first time?
