So I'm an enormous stellaris fan, I like 4x, and I think the very custom civs part look somewhat interesting. So basically target audience... but I can't do it. The pledges are too much, I'm tapped out on KS since John Company 2nd edition is coming out at the end of the month... and if it isn't from a designer I have a lot of faith in or have some buzz from a number of people I trust re: reviews I can't commit this much.

I'll be very interested from people to see how it is when it actually comes out, though.

Yea it's really hard for me to gamble $150 on some random kickstarter. If it's worth playing it'll be around later, and probably for cheaper.

For myself, I'm kind of idly tempted by the Everdell complete set. Probably just because it exists? I've never been particularly tempted by the Everdell expansions before, but they do look fun. I think I'd be much better served by just buying one of them

A guy from my dormant game group just sent us a text asking us if he made the investment, would we actually play it. I'll have to see some rules or a video with a bit more in-depth information to know how I'd feel about it. Specifically the touted 2 hour playtime. What makes it short? I may not like that. Though as it is a legacy game, it might not matter.

Edit - Now he's changed it to "probably going to ask the group to chip in on it." Not sure I'm willing to do that.

Yeah, the details are frighteningly scarce. I think they went up to early. I like to see draft rules at least.

The game sounds interesting. But I know it would never justify its existence on my shelf. One of the members of my group-that-was had already kickstarted the Sandy Petersen space game. I don't know if that ever delivered.

It kind of looks like Legacy Eclipse.

This same guy in my game group is a serial backer of KS games. He went all in on Petersen’s Hyperspace game, then we played it several times on TTS and I have no interest in playing it ever again (my thoughts are posted around here somewhere, for what those are worth). I’m pretty positive it hasn’t been delivered.

I remember you saying it was not a good time. I still want to check it out, and I'm sure that TTS doesn't have the game putting its best foot forward. But based on your comments, I'm glad it wasn't my money.

I've bought Academy stuff before, so I was on the mailing list, and they are really up my ass to back this in 48 hours or I will MO and don't I have a FO that? $100? And it's not literally THE DARK TOWER? I need some more info, people. The little picture looks neat, but is it?

It's a bad campaign. Everyone has their own "why would people back this?" incredulous criteria but my strongest is "what are the fucking mechanics of this game?"

CMON announced they will be Kickstarting the Marvel United: X-Men soon. Sign me up for the whole enchilada. Love me the chibis!

The recent Mechanicute chibi figure KS is pretty awesome with Necrocats. It's really the only style of WH40K I want now. LOL

What's odd about Marvel United is that the base game is available for super cheap, I think you could get it for $17 this week at Amazon.

Is the extra content really worth all of that extra money?

I know this is the central challenge with the CMON KS model, but usually the base game retail price is much closer to the pledge cost which makes the decision more clear.

I have a pretty low expectation for the gameplay. I fully admit to wanting the plastic figures and there is likely no other way I would be able to get my hands on them.

It's funny because my interest (which is not admittedly super high) is for the opposite reason. It looks like a very stripped down take on the Sadler Brothers MDS system seen in Street Masters. I can't play that game with my daughter but I could play Marvel United I think.

It turns out that I’m a total hypocrite because I just bought one of the big box packs for Terraforming Mars. Since I sold off about 90% of all my games we’ve been playing this a lot again and the place my mind is right now is that I’d rather buy deeply into the two or three games that we enjoy the most than buying into new things.
