This:

Its one of those love it or hate it things (luckily I am in the former camp). It is one of the most intricately planned depiction of chaos with each element carefully chosen.

Do we need a "What TATTOOS have you been inked with?" entry in the cantina?

A new used car a couple of weekends ago, after the timing belt on my previous car failed and took the whole engine out. So the wreckers got my pretty decent old card for a pittance - and what really pissed me off was that I had just filled the tank before so that was £70 of petrol lost as well.

But silver linings and all that - my Mazda 6 TS2 is an absolute joy to drive.

My wife got one 6 weeks ago. She told me last night all she wants for Christmas are Amazon gift vouchers, which I think gives an idea of its impact on her.

I've bought a heaping crapload of Christmas presents. I'm thinking we need to just do Hanukkah next year.

Ordered the Kindle at 7pm last night with free shipping.

Yikes. My Subaru just ticked over 100,000 miles a week ago and needs a new timing belt very soon. But I'm going in this afternoon to put down a deposit on a new car, so I'll be rid of it before I need to do that service. :)

Downside: the new vehicle will primarily be my wife's, and I'll be downgrading from a WRX to a Chevy Impala. Bleh.

A Chevy Impala. OH NO.

Also, if you get a police surplus one and don't take off the mirrors and whatnot, I will personally come over to your house and kill you.

LOL...the Impala is what she's driving now. LS model, baby. 3.8 liters of pushrod FURY. I don't think that engine even needs oil to run, it's completely bulletproof. However after driving a WRX for 8.5 years, the Impala rides like it has a suspension made of Jello and marshmallows for wheels.

The new vehicle is gonna be a 2011 Ford Edge. Maybe if I stay on my best behavior I'll get to drive it every once in a while, heh.

I know a couple of families that celebrate both. Seems a bit overwhelming to me. Although for Hanukkah, about 75% of the "gifts" we exchange within the immediate family are things that would be on our household shopping list anyway, like socks, snacks, booze, and dice.
