Yea, the animals are too aggressive in this game.

As for FC4, I have barely touched it lately. I'm surprised how quickly I started to fall off of it. I keep thinking I should re-install Doom 2016. I could see me beating that game again.

Even the PSVFR Doom is pretty good. Even better actually.

driveable cars are much rarer this time around. when I moved on from the original house to the 'bridge fort' base, which only has two doors on opposite sides of a river, this issue went waay down.

I bought The Division since it's $10 right now on Steam. I like the combat, but DAMN is it difficult. Clearly they don't intend you to play on your own. The AI "helpers" are no help at all, and in fact just get in your way. I cleared the first batch of side missions with no trouble at all, but when faced with the first real mission, I failed over and over until I said fuck it. I'll wait and play it with my son.

So finally after couple of years of a friend's goading, I bought Borderlands 2 GOTY. I think this game was a fluke for Gearbox, and they're never a really good developer.

I had tried the game back then when it had free weekends, and when I started it up I remember how much I hate shooting while running backward. Not fun, not realistic, not thematic, not interesting, not tactical, whole load of nots. I loved the world, but hated how I seemed to fight my gun more than I fight the baddies. Cool shotgun! Need to reload after 2 shots. Explosive assault rifles! Slow projectiles.

Initially the impression is the same, but now more or less I've settled in, accepted the guns for what they are and starting to enjoy the gunplay.

Still don't get the "funny" bit.

BL2 is the best in the series. My favorite character is Krieg.

The Division started picking up once I got some better gear. It's basically a "realistic" Gears of War, but with Borderlands loot. Once again Ubisoft shows that their writing department is completely incompetent, but that's fine, I don't play their games for story.

PUBG continues to impress with their weekend events. War mode needs to be a permanent thing; this last weekend's event had everyone dropping into a small area, 3 10 person teams, and everyone was wearing Ghillie suits and had sniper rifles. It was also raining. Hell yes.

I'm very disappointed by the Fallout 76 news. I'm a huge Fallout fanboy, but I am not interested in online play at all. Zero. Nada. In fact, I find it mind-boggling that anyone would look at the Internet climate, especially around video games, in the last three years and think, "what people really want is to interact with a bunch of random internet video game gentlemen!" I guess I can at least relax now that I am freed from having to pay attention to all things Fallout.

But hey, I still have No Man's Sky, right?

It's adding multiplayer.

Thankfully, that's supposedly opt-in, but still...there's so much I'd rather see in NMS than the chance to have WaffenWeed69 wreck my base.
