Persona 5 is an incredibly generous PS Plus offering. UI design is indeed amazing and it's a beast of a SMT game.

P5 is a really good time. Maybe not as good as P4 in terms of writing, but that's an absurdly high bar. Gameplay-wise it's the best in the series. Probably went on PS+ because the inevitable version with a bit more content is coming out soonish.

Signed up for Xbox Game Pass for a whole $1 so I could try a few things, most notably The Outer Worlds. I figured I'd give it a few hours, get annoyed with typical WRPG issues, and move on. It ended up eating most of my weekend. This game is fucking fantastic. It actually delivers on everything promised without a single bit of Bethesda jank ruining the experience. I've run into exactly one bug - a status effect not going away - and it was instantly resolved by loading a save.

The most amazing thing this has managed to do besides actually function mechanically is have characters that are worth caring about. I definitely have favorite companions, but they're all likable and (with the exception of the cleaning robot) have quest lines that flesh them out really nicely. This is the promised land of WRPGS, the real fucking deal. Play it if you can.

Lots of stuff.... at least one match of Apex Legends every day. I'm still terrible.

Signed up for Xbox ultimate game pass for 3 months since it was only $1. I started Outer Worlds on the xbox and downloaded Space Hulk Tactics on PC but haven't loaded it up yet.

Did my first workout in Ring Fit Adventure on the Switch. This was quite an aerobic workout. We will see how I feel tomorrow. I mainly got it to motivate the kids to move around more, hopefully they use it. I can confirm that it is a legit exercise device / game.

Finally got around to finishing Red Dead Redemption 2. Just have the epilogue left to play. I got the dishonorable ending so next time I will go for the honorable one. I did get pretty emotional when

Death's Gambit is a really nice little 2d Dark Souls-like. It doesn't feature the crushing difficulty, but instead gets the atmosphere, lore, and exploration part right. So it's like the opposite of one of those copycats on console like the Surge, which blow out the combat and difficulty in interesting ways but don't nail the less technical stuff.

Am I missing something, or are the PS+ games for November actually Nioh and Outlast 2? Not seeing P5 anywhere...

Been playing Beatmania IIDX again. What a great game. I'm surprised I can still clear 10s despite not having played for years.

Finished Outer Worlds, taking about 17ish hours, not doing a huge amount of side stuff. This is a great small RPG, and anyone who likes the idea of a Fallout but not the 80 hour commitment should play it.

I started Outer Wilds, and I'm not sure how much I'll play this one... I don't know that I want to play Lunar Lander 2019 over and over.

Outer Wilds is supposed to be mind blowing. It's my one actual "I need to play this" game of the year.

I beat Death's Gambit. Good fun, solid theming, solid 2d souls combat that wasn't too hard nor the game padded to be too long.

Outer Wilds definitely seems interesting; but I don't know if I would call it "fun to play."

Yeah, sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was defending something I'd never played. That's shitty behavior.

I do need to give it a try when work quiets down, though.

It's all good, and it's entirely possible that the game will grow on me. It's one of those puzzlers that doesn't hold your hand, and you need to explore and examine in order to progress. But the actual environmental traversal, I'm not finding overly enjoyable.

One planet is covered in water, and these giant storms throw you INTO SPACE and then drop you back down. It's not pleasant.

Picked up “Return of the Obra Dinn” on Switch. This game is so far fairly difficult and I feel like I’m not very good at it yet. I am very interested in finding out the whole story and I expect as I uncover more facts, the game will get a bit easier. I’d be playing right now if it hadn’t killed the battery on my Switch.
