Well, I gave Doom Eternal a couple of hours and it isn't for me. The combination of breakneck pace plus ammo scarcity is not conducive to my play style. I like both of those things in isolation but I feel like I'm constantly running out of ammo and gas and it is forcing me to try to do those fancy kills while running without cover. Not my style, I guess I have been spoiled by too many Ubisoft shooters or Destiny type ones.
Anyhoo, might give Outer Worlds a spin if I have any more down time this weekend.
No, vr has never really appealed to me beyond being a neat thing id like to mess with for an afternoon.
Also, I am deeply bad at this game with this flight stick lol. Situational awareness is non-existent, and just trying to remember what button targets stuff etc... I'm sure I'll get there but woof. Fun though

I was good at the original, but I'm not great at this one.....so many buttons and I need to get better at reading the radar. There is an incredible amount of throttle play in this game that I am just not used to yet. I'm going to play around with the dead zone settings and see if that helps with my ham fisted flying.
One thing I realize that is missing is the sense of motion that you get from having only a starfield as in the original vs a scenery box as in this game. The stars in the distance would provide the illusion of motion at you pitched and rolled. The scenery box in this does not accomplish the same effect, although it looks great.
It's different on the maps with debris and such which make it much more like a terrestrial flyer.
Still no regrets on getting the game. It is fantastic.
I'm on PS4, so that deadzone issue doesn't apply as I'm aware. I actually want a larger deadzone so it won't feel so twitchy. Even with the sensitivity at 30%, I'm constantly over correcting. I will have to see if I can increase the tension on the flight stick/throttle.
I won a match of Mario 35! Man that game is so so fun. As people unlock later levels it's just going to get crazier too. They should go full Mario maker and add SMB3 AND SMW levels into the rotation.
Speaking of which I made a level I really like. The concept is to have what looks like a traditional Mario level, but then you can't touch the ground.
