I was a big AC/DC fan back when they hit it big here in the states, and my wife is a big GnR/Axl Rose fan. So for our anniversary present I crossed my fingers and got us two tickets to the AC/DC concert, with Axl taking the place of Brian Johnson. The missus was worried that we'd be a couple of old geezers in the crowd, but I a) didn't care, and b) remembered what the Rush R40 concert crowd looked like and knew that AC/DC would probably draw an even older crowd. It turned out that I was right, and we were pretty much in the middle of the bell curve.

As for the concert, Axl did a really good job on vocals. He has the type of voice that works for AC/DC, without sounding like a guy from an AC/DC tribute band. And Angus is still Angus and was jumping around and having fits on the floor, despite being 103 years old. Hunt up a setlist, and they are still doing that set - 24 songs, with 22 of them being favorites. I loved it and the missus loved it.

Pink Floyd, Skynyrd, and Van Morrison pretty much 24/7 at this point.

The guitar work on Shine on you Crazy Diamond is still tip top

I've also had the collaboration between Julie Christmas and Cult of Luna on heavy rotation:

It has all the right mix of elements that I've come to like with the contemporary metal scene.

A space parasite has infested me and ever since I've been getting into early Yes. Specifically, Close to the Edge, Fragile, and The Yes Album. I can't break the spell, it's so good.

That John Carpenter Halloween III score that Egg posted (thanks, Egg!) reminded me of the recent Cluster Buster release. It's really good for this time of year. I know some here don't like the hyper-coolness of synthwave, but for those who want some future retro sounds this Halloween...this is your album.

I dig it, and I still listen to Night Runner that you posted a while back.

Currently I'm very into Stellardrone, another guy with a computer making some very spacey music.

Looks like John Carpenter's 'Lost Themes II' dropped a few months back...

...and no one here mentioned it.

Bad, F:AT, bad!

Wow! I'm enjoying this second album even more than than the first.
My favorite track is 'Hofner Dawn'. Once it gets into it, it's almost like 'John Carpenter does the Princess Bride' or 'John Carpenter Ft. Mark Knopfler'

Beautiful
