Oh, I wasn't even really trying...just throwing out random stuff.

Actually, I can definitely see you being a big Fear fan. Now that makes sense.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT. The new Deafheaven. I didn't think they could top Sunbather...but I think they may have. New Bermuda actually skews more traditional BM in a couple of ways- there are some METAL riffs, minor keys, and more aggression. The post-rock and shoegazer stuff is still there, but the intensity feels higher. Production is so damn good.

It came out the same week as the new Chrvches and New Order records but I've barely listened to them yet. New Bermuda might be record of the year.

I'm about halfway through it and it's really good. I had a mildly shitty week so listening to this made me feel better...

N.O. is still at it huh? My friend had me check out some recent-ish stuff and I wasn't into it. Shit, I gotta jet.

Carrie and Lowell by Sufjan Stevens

I think he's a genius. He wrote this song about his deceased parents. My dad died in August, and this album tears me apart, but I can't stop listening to it. It's a different album now.

Sufjan Stevens does have a lot of Elliott Smith going on.

Oh, I've been listening to Elliot Smith and Nick Drake for a long time! Put I need to put them back in the rotation. I'm also 90 percent certain that I saw Elliot Smith on the streets of Portland, Oregon at 7:00 a.m. on a Saturday, wearing a Dr. Seuss hat. This was in the mid nineties.

Man, this has been a phenomenal year for music. IMO, the number of quality releases has been staggering. I've also really enjoyed some of the recent new punk bands that have cropped up.

The Night Birds, I've mentioned earlier this year, and their new release is even better.

I've also gotten into this band Ex Hex.

I've been listening to the new Coheed & Cambria album, The Color Before the Sun. If you are not a fan of Coheed, what is wrong with you?

Been digging out creepy songs for the season today. Here's one that I don't think I can stand to listen to a second time.

This is positively upbeat by comparison. Until you realise the sample is from a real 911 call.
