MC Frontalot, LSDS. If you like "nerdy" shit over "I am so gangstaaaaa" shit, then maybe that would convert you.
If you read the lyrics (especially yellow lasers) you'll see how intelligent the guy is. I mean, guy's got degrees in music theory and electronic music, so it's not like he's some gutter snipe who got lucky and can parrot what a producer tells him to say like some cRappers.
But, here's my all time favorite rap song:

I'm afraid my picks are all totally old, I was going to link this as "new" and realized it's over a decade old... still one of my favorites though.
I remember when Illmatic dropped and my little mind was blown. I used to tape tracks off Hot97 and play them on my little ghetto blaster and this one got worn out:
And finally what I think is my favorite jam of all time:
It was a good era to come up in.

My actual favourite all time rap slice isn't on any of the album I suggested, so here it is:
Also, this, since some of you seem to like beat poetry, which also meets the definition of hard:
And for those of you with Spotify access, I collected most of the suggestions I could find into a playlist.

'93 til infinity (one of my all time fave hiphop tracks) got me thinking of Casual. In my opinion he had the tightest rhymes of anyone in the Heiro crew.
Speaking of tight rhymes, you can't sleep on Organized Konfusion. Their second LP is another one in my hiphop hall of fame and one of my favorite album covers of all time as well.
And of course, the classic Pete Rock and CL Jam 'TROY'

Loter, if you like Daylight, you should check out Blockhead's stuff (he produced most of Aesop's early stuff, including Daylight). If you liked the production on Labor Days, all of Blockhead's stuff sounds really similar, and it's all really good.

I'm surprised I've not seen any Eric B and Rakim, any Kool Moe Dee...back in the day they were the shit.
Here's something you chaps may never have heard of...
Anyone who can sound gangster yet reference Ms. Pac Man and Cookie Monster is clearly a lyrical genius.
My buddy Jordan knew one of the guys, Malice...guy said he was the real thing. Really would go to the studio and record, then get back to his corner and flip some rocks. But now he's rich, so he's living the good life.
It's a rarity that these "gangster rappers" who talk all this shit are real. Most claim to murder thousands yet aren't all in prison....which makes no sense. I mean, if you're confessing on the song, and they're driving in Maseratis, it's not like any prosecutor can't figure out where they're at....

This weekend's hits:
DJ Green Lantern & Jadakiss - The Champ is here
One of the most def beats of all time.
- Right where you stand, probably Kiss's best lyrics.
"He ain't gonna do nothing but look, when it comes to beef he ain't gonna do nothin' but cook" always makes me laugh.
And one of the best DJ's ever, DJ Danger Mouse, with the Grey Album, which is the Beatle's White album remix of Jay-Zs Black Album. For any hiphop fan, this is a must see.
