Gonna stick with my own thread here. Cuz I can.

From halfturkey.blogspot.com/2012/01/project-250-reviewing-1997.html , Built to Spill – Perfect From Now On, Electric Wizard – Come My Fanatics…, Radiohead – OK Computer, Mogwai – Young Team, Yo La Tengo – I Can Hear the Heart Beating As One.

From halfturkey.blogspot.com/2012/02/project-250-reviewing-1998.html , Neutral Milk Hotel – In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, Refused – The Shape of Punk to Come, John Zorn – The Circle Maker, Boredoms – Super æ, Dirty Three – Ocean Songs.

From halfturkey.blogspot.com/2012/03/project-250-reviewing-1999.html , Taake – Nattestid ser porten vid..., The Olivia Tremor Control – Black Foliage, Built to Spill – Keep It Like a Secret, Summoning – Stronghold, Bonnie "Prince" Billy – I See a Darkness.

From halfturkey.blogspot.com/2012/04/project-250-reviewing-2000.html , Electric Wizard – Dopethrone, 16 Horsepower – Secret South, Modest Mouse – The Moon & Antarctica, At the Drive-In – Relationship of Command, Yo La Tengo! – And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out.

For those who don't want to read the links, both Built to Spill and Yo La Tengo albums got blue ribbons, as did (and I hate to admit this) Neutral Milk Hotel. But the metal and post-hardcore stuff, while not stellar, have been really fun listens too. But, wow, Built to Spill and Yo La Tengo are such great discoveries that I normally wouldn't have found following my usual rabbit trails.

Currently wrapping up and writing up 2001: The Strokes – This Is It, Björk – Vespertine, Unwound – Leaves Turn Inside You, System of a Down – Toxicity, Fugazi – The Argument.

Been a big Bjork fan since the cubes days.

Married to Mathew Barney, if you've never seen his work check it out, you'll see why they make a great couple.
The Cremaster Cycle is his crowning glory: 5 films, books, photo's, sculpture, drawings & bio engineering make up the whole project. The base inspiration is biology, more specifically the cremaster muscle. "As the cycle evolved over eight years, Barney looked beyond biology as a way to explore the creation of form, employing narrative models from other realms, such as biography, mythology, and geology." Sorry for the thread jack but every time I think of one I think of the other.

Yeah, thanks for taking the time to post a rec, but maybe you shoulda waited to see my Bjork review to see if it was appropriate. Hint: The only person who could alienate me more than Bjork is the man who would stay with her. However, objectively that is an amazing album.

She's an acquired taste, similar to the sycophants that think Silvia Plath's work is anything more than mental diarrhea. I’m looking forward to the write up regardless of your feelings for her, Vespertine is my favourite Bjork album and her best although I do like a few of her earlier singles: Human Behavior, Violently Happy & Army of me off the top.
