Now you made encode a video and upload it to youtube just to prove that there's a better cover of I Am The Walrus around - this one by Static Taxi, the band Bob Stinson played in after the Replacements:dave wrote: Oasis - I Am the Walrus (tailor-made for them)

This band doesn't do Beatles covers, but they do a weird mash-up of Beatles and Metallica music. It's pretty amusing.

Made it their own, although not better than the original. But then again, I can't think of a Beatles cover that's better than the original unless the original was crap to begin with (obladioblada etc)

I always liked Sheryl Crow's version of "Mother Nature's Son." I think it's because it sounds like she is bringing so much joy to the performance.

Like Barnes, I immediately went to Siouxsie. And to commit total heresy, I almost like Dear Prudence better than the original.
Other worthwhile Beatles covers are harder, as in early all cases the Beatles original completely overshadows any of the covers I've heard. And I know I've heard a ton of Beeatles covers, but few spring to mind.
