I was reading an article somewhere (Rolling Stone?) and they mentioned WFMU and said that you could go into a record store in Berlin and they would likely be streaming it. That piqued my interest as there probably aren't hipsters hipper anywhere than Berlin hipsters.

So I checked it out and like it quite a bit. Basically they have accrued a murderers row of NYC DJs as they have become obsolete on corporate radio. There are countless great shows where they play a very eclectic mix of mostly rock and punk. For example, today the guy had on the filmmaker who made the Lambert and Stamp documentary for an interview sandwiched between obscure Who tracks and covers of Who songs.

Anyhow, they have an app for WFMU. You can stream it for free. It's a great way to get exposed to music that you would likely not ever hear any other way.

Check it out!

Thanks for this. Here in Cincinnati we have Country, Classic Rock and Pop stations only. So sick of it.

Another one worth checking out is KEXP in Seattle. John in the morning has some great selections.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm driving back and forth from Pennsytucky to West Virginia this week. I have some Audible books and spotify but it's also great to check out some new music on a long 5 hour car ride.
