A close friend of mine died of cancer on Tuesday morning. He wasn't famous, but he was an extremely nice guy who will be missed by many people. We first met as co-workers 29 years ago. Compared to his death, the passing of some celebrity that I never met seems very remote. I liked a few of STP's hits, but I also like a warm bowl of oatmeal on a chilly morning.
