Ultimate AT Songs

Despite differing tastes in styles of music there are some songs that convey that Ameritrash feeling.

"Ride of the Valkyries" when your forces are sweeping down on your opponents territories

"Cashmere" when you're about to encounter the Great Old on in Arkham Horror

"Bad to the Bone" Is there anytime when this is not appropriate?

Tell me- What do you want to hear to evoke that AT Goodness?
P.S. There is a similar thread out there somewhere but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Before this list spirals off into a bunch of Led Zeppelin and Rush nonsense...

The ultimate AT anthem is..."Don't Forget the Chaos" by The Exploited.

Wattie and the boys have this to say:

See those missiles in the air
Where did they come from No One cares
What are they there for What do they do
They kill millions of people Like me and you

DEATH AND DESTRUCTION AND DON'T FORGET THE CHAOS[x4]

Death and destruction Anguish and tears
Nuclear fallout And acid like rain
Why do we have them What is their need
The government said That they are there to keep peace

DEATH AND DESTRUCTION AND DON'T FORGET THE CHAOS[x4]
DON'T FORGET THE CHAOS!!!!!

See those missiles in the air
Where did they come from No One cares

What are they threre for What do they do
They kill millions of people Like me and you

DEATH AND DESTRUCTION AND DON'T FORGET THE CHAOS[x4]

Death and destruction Anguish and tears
Nuclear fallout And acid like rain
Why do we have them What is their need
The government said That they are there to keep peace

DEATH AND DESTRUCTION AND DON'T FORGET THE CHAOS[x4]

But If we're talking about FFG-style "AT", then I guess "Tom Sawyer" will do. Deedledeedledeedleduhdeedledeedledeedle for thirty minutes.

Let's start out with an anti-euro bias:

"I'm so booo-ooo-ooored with this eur-o-game."

Wait those aren't the real lyrics.

"Everybody at you party they all look depressed.
Everybody's dressing funny, color me impressed."

[white reebocks and fanny bags*]

Works though.

Game specific song:

For Diplomacy:
Buzzcocks - Oh Shit
"Oh shit, I thought you and I were friends
Oh shit, I guess this is where our love ends
Oh shit, I thought things were goin' well
But it hasn't turned out so swell"

People specific song:

When playing against Avery: The Ramones - Beat on the Brat. ("With a baseball bat Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh-o.")

AT in general:

Tie between the Damned - Smash It UP, and the Stooges - Search & Destroy

In similar news: Wargame song for Up Front: The Urinals - Ack Ack Ack Ack

*) As I have recently learnt fanny means bum in the USA, not minge.

You guys are all pretty close, but from where I sit there's one song that trumps all other AT songs:

If we're gonna use an Exploited song my vote goes with the simple yet extremely catchy 'Sex and Violence' which also doesn't suffer from 'lyric bloat.' Sex and Violence, boobs and bombs...it just makes sense.

Fraking Excellent! Any Exploited song gets my vote. 2nd place = The Clash - probably Clampdown. My regular gaming con tee shirt is the black Skull-Mohawk Exploited tee shirt. Sex and Violence would be my choice when playing a lighter AT game like Thunderoad, Epic Duels, Castle Ravenloft. But Don't Forget the Chaos is an excellent choice for some heavy AT games like AH, Starcraft, Ti3.

There's really a bunch of Exploited songs that would work-

- "Maggie", which is about calling a European authority figure a "cunt"
- The aforementioned "Sex and Violence"
- "Horror Epics"
- "Dead Cities"
- "Dogs of War"
- "Troops of Tomorrow"
- "Let's Start a War"
- "I Believe in Anarchy (and chaos)"

Sigue Sigue Sputnik! I fuckin' love them! I actually have some of their records other than "Flaunt it"! The second one, "Dress for Excess" is really great...pure trash rock n' roll- NY Dolls meet Suicide but less uptown and sophisticated than either.

As this is how Dune will look when FFG is done with it:

you might want to consider adding some syntheses to the mix.

However the FFG reputation will be saved by the new Warhammer licensed game which will be somewhat along these lines:

You guys are too idealistic...
